Bumping this. Even if you have never played Fantasy Football before, it's not that hard to start and you can do very well and even win your league with a minimum of effort. (I like to believe the extra effort I put in helps, but there is a fair bit of luck).
To those who might try this a first time. Here is the simplest way to play.
1) Drafting - You can let the computer autopick your selections. The lists are ordered by experts. I regularly see autopicked teams outperform live draft teams.
2) During the season - setting your line-ups. You need to check in on your teams before game time. You can just put the players the computer says are more likely to score the most points that week in your starting lineup. Make sure you are not starting any players that are injured or on Bye week and thus not playing.
You can usually even get away with checking just once a week (before the Thursday game) and adjusting your line-up then. Twice a week is even better, checking Sunday morning as well.
3) Injuries - If one of your players goes down for most of the season, be sure to replace him with the best free agent/waiver player available at his position. You want to do this sooner rather than later to maintain your depth of line-up. Yahoo has little notes next to all your players, makes it really easy to tell.
That's it. You can let the computer do the heavy lifting for you! Just need to check-in once or twice a week and keep your team on auto-pilot.
