Don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but Boone is basically useless to me now.
I went into the Tops casino with him, and turned in my weapons. When I left, I got them all back, but Boone's rifle was in my inventory. As it is coded to not be traded, there is no way to give Boone back his sniper rifle. I've tried dropping it in front of him, he won't pick it up. So my main helper in the wastes is using a machete for his only weapon. -_-

Ok, I cannot play this until a patch comes out again. I'm tired of losing progress to crashes that freeze my PS3. After an hour to an hour and a half of playing, that's when it decides to just freeze up.
I love playing it but there's nothing more frustrating than getting into the groove of a game and then being ripped out by a bug, especially one that crashes it.

What are sys reqs compared to Fallout 3? I know Fallout 3 worked on mediumish for me
As well, if I had to get one (I borrowed Fallout 3 from a friend but didn't play much), which one should I get?

Get one what? Which version..? PC. Seems to have the least problems, better graphics, and 1000+ mods already (course most of them are crap).

I'm very cautious about functionality, because games like Assassin's Creed, which were supposed to work, didn't. I got a RAM upgrade, so it might be worth getting F:NV instead of F3 and a few GoGs at Christmas
My hardware is 2.16 GHz Dual Core, 2 GB RAM, and a 256mb 7600GT Nvidia

Or get fallout 3 first so you can play it without thinking "Man, new vegas was better than this.". That way you get to enjoy 2 games instead of just one
Hmm now that'd be an interesting mod, dumping fallout 3 into the new vegas framework so you can play 3 in hardcore mode. The story of working towards purified water would have a far better effect if you actually NEEDED water to survive

Fair enough, but my friend let me borrow Fallout 3.
I might play that after exams, and then buy NV...

Fallout 3 with DC interiors, that 3gig texture overhaul, wasteland lights, fellout, total game respawn... seducing women, CMRS ((logical repair mod)) UUP ((100's of perks)) GNR upgrade, Existence 2.0, and sprint mod make it fun as hell!
I also have a quick flip convert to mod in Zombie Apocalypse where everything is a zombie and all NPC's are on the same faction ^_^
Pretty awesome to see Enclave and the Brotherhood finding side by side defending a local away from 76 zombies rushing in!

Not a lot to do aside from the main questline so far. I'm level 9 and just finished They Went That-A-Way. Although clearing out the ghouls from the rocket facility was fun.
I've got one quest in particular that's telling me to free some people (can't remember where the quest came from even). The map marker takes me straight into a legion encampment with two tied-up powder gangers. Are these the ones I'm supposed to free? First of all, I don't like powder gangers, or more accurately they don't like me since I've killed about two dozen of them, and secondly I'm not about to take on a legion camp to free anyone. What should I do here?
Also, what's the best way to get into the safe in the office in Novac to prove to Boone who set up his wife?
Various other questions include: Is there a good way to repair "That Gun"? Where should I look for better guns? Do I need armor-piercing rounds vs. the robots I seemingly have to kill to get to the HELIOS mainframe? Is there a good way to get a big boost in caps early on? I'm skinned after buying That Gun and those launch control modules. Can anybody give me a hacking 101?
I'm feeling pretty vulnerable playing hardcore in this game, which is great. But it shows that I've never played Fallout 3 either, there are some game mechanic I don't have a clue about. Like why it's good to shoot out specific body parts and how to do crafting properly.

I dislike the Powder Gangers but I hate the Legion more. They are brutal, torture victims, mutilate them, burn them alive etc. Everytime I see one, they always die brutally with my melee weapons, currently using Super Sledge Hammer atm.
Wait till night?
You get better guns eventually. Or if you want, u can head north to Freeside. Lots of great gun merchants there provided u got the money. You can only repair a gun with another similar gun, an armour with the same type of armour. Unless you go like me and get 90 Repair and that Repair perk that allows me to repair a costly armour with a shitty one. I checked I had to pay $10000 to repair a Combat Armour MK2 from the vendor, but with that perk I used a $89 shitty armour to repair my Combat Armour MK2, saved myself $9900+. Good way to earn money too that perk.
You can play Caravan cards at the start, fun game, good way to earn starting caps. Don't bother reading the shit instructions in-game, didn't understand nuts even after reading 3 times, just load up a Youtube video and watch, you'll get how to play after watching.
Or just get 9 Luck or something via perks, or implants, then go to the Casinos and gamble, you'll definitely be rich.
I feel vulnerable at the very start but once I started getting a DT of over 20, most of the human thugs and fiends feel too easy. The ones who always give me trouble are the insects and stuff like Deathclaws. Cazadors and Deathclaws stand at my hardest mob list. The rest are pretty much cake.
