I know (young-ish) people who are only now getting to PC gaming. I dunno if they'd ever care to play Fallout 1-2 or Tactics, but I am 101% sure they don't have them yet.

People sometimes tend to forget that not all people have been gamers since forever, or been gamers all the time (like all those silly people who think that if a game has been in some stupid indie bundle, then.certainly everyone who could ever be interested in that game already has it).

BTW, I recall hearing the Steam versions are buggier than the GOG versions (like not having all the same compatibility fixes to run on Windows 7 etc.), was this the case? EDIT: At least some reviews on the Steam page suggest so, claiming the GOG version is more compatible with modern systems..

But its not Fallout 3, its Wasteland. That means no Brotherhood of Steel, no Enclave, no retro 50s futurist society, and no Super Mutants and Deathclaws :(

I think I brought a few examples that "might" actually help. Yet another thread on GOG, even though not calling for boycotting but still with no other intention then to stir up trouble and offering no solution, isn't helping - at all.

Enclave=evil robots
retro 50's futurist society=retro 80's futurist society
Supermutants=regular mutants
Deathclaws=mutated bunnies

There are roughly enough equivalents to make it okay... but let's face it, 80's futurist society is WAY better than 50's futurist society. Because it's the 80's.*

Wasteland 2 is THAT much closer to Fallout 1 and 2, then Fallout 3 or any Fallout coming from Bethesda can and will ever be - and that's coming from a Bethesda fanboy.

Pretty much everything in Fallout was lifted from Wasteland. BoS was taken from the Guardians of the Old Order, NCR is basically the Rangers, The Master is Finster, Military Base is Cochise, Servants of the Mushroom Cloud were used for Fallout's radiation cults. Hell even Wasteland's first "quest" is to find a water purification device to replace the broken one in Highpool.

Yes. You should still be able to download it from your account page. At that point it is just cloud storage. Removal just means you will no longer be able to purchase the game.

Still not a bad practice to have a locally stored copy on your hard drive or removable media. Never know what can happen.

I want this to be a ruse and then a week later they have a Fallout blowout and then re-add the original three games along with DRM free versions of Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
