fronzelneekburm: Well guys, I guess you scared Gydion away.
Not quite. I never made it on yesterday. Since, I held things up I will get my votes together. I just need to give the entries a once over to solidify my picks.

Wait, we have power? And it's enough to RUIN someone's life? :-o

Well, we can actually pick the worst piece and reward it with some shitty game :)

If you're looking for inspiration on which game to choose for a potential "Worst of"-contest, here's a list of GOG's bottom 12.

Just sayin'... ;D

No. There is another.

I dare not speak its name, for fear that its sinister gaze may consume us all.

Actually that's what I was thinking about :)
But going from the bottom...
Forsaken Gods - it's just not as good and as open as any other Gothic game.
MoO3 can be fixed with mods.
Slender is just short and not scary.
Omerta got hit by the DLC drama.
Empire Earth - don't know, haven't played.
LSL: MCL - now we have a real turd. Not as shitty as LSL: BOB, but still. Yet, I'd like to keep this giveaway open to all age groups.
Ultima IX - it just doesn't fit the world created by the series and is rather medicore.
Daikatana - it was hit by not living up to the hype. Other than that, it's just medicore. And buggy.
Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness - don't know, haven't played.
Simon the Sorcerer 3D - Jackpot. Godawful piece of crap with terrible graphics and screwed up design! Well worth to be 'the worst piece' prize :)
Personally, I didn't think MCL was *that* bad. The minigames can be grating and the jokes are mostly just juvenile attempts at shock humor, but exploration can be fun and it's still a competently made game (unlike, for example, Daikatana, which is a broken 30 million Dollar Quake II mod).

I also thought Slender was pretty decent (albeit waaaay to short). Maybe that's just because the whole Slender meme went completely unnoticed by me, so I was able to enjoy this game with a fresh perspective, but I thought the game (the opening level in particular) was genuinely creepy in places.

Ever played Kingdom: The Far Reaches by any chance?

Well, I just wanted to see what happens with the aliens from the ending of LSL 7 :) No Larry Laffer, no point and click, no classic adventuring, lots of minigames in which I sucked :)

Yeah, I played the original 8 pages, maybe that's why I'm so unimpressed by Arrival. I just hoped for a good Slenderman story that actually adds something to the mythos. Instead I got 8 pages with nicer graphics and more levels of the same collecting stuff.

Nope. I have it, but never pulled myself to play it. Is it really that bad?
Creepiest Keane of them all: <span class="bold">GBaz</span>
Cure for insomnia? That's an image to keep you lying awake at night in horror. Is Keane a creepy SOB in the mythos of the game? If so this should move up on my list.

Runner-up: Mondo84's entry comes in a close second. Now that's how you Photoshop Jack Keane's head onto something. If only because it's so much more than just the head. An excellent piece.

Winning Entry: <span class="bold">Azilut</span>
For me it had it all. More than simply a picture with 2 Peter 3:8. We have Keane himself, a GOGbear and the crushing weight of the world held up by our savior's fingertips.

Special Mentions: <span class="bold">almabrds</span> & <span class="bold">OvaltineJenkins</span>

As with the other judges I also enjoyed <span class="bold">truhlik77</span>'s entry. I felt it needed something more to be counted among the top contenders.

Well, fellow Judges and Migty Overseer...
For the moment, we have a tie (which surprised me, because many great pieces were submited). A tie between two great pieces of Keane art. And I'm torn. Both pieces are of great artistic values, deep understanding of the ways of our Master Keane and have clever ideas behind them.
Fellow Judges, what would you say if we rewarded both artists with a GOG copy of JACK!!!!
...Orlando?
I would say to that: If a tie is good enough for the top sport in the ol' U.S. of A. (American Football), then it's good enough for the 2013 Spirit of The Keane Award. And what a fine prize! An appropriately cheesy adventure game with an appropriately roguish main character to be fondly enjoyed as a trophy of a contest deservedly won.

Heck, I'll even pitch-in one of those copies, if desired.
