I agree with that and the reason I didn't make an essay out of my posts because I just didn't want to go that deep. There are dirty politicians all over America, there are oil companies, and there are personal interests of rich men involved. I just won't go too far into it.
There is also a ton of innocents on both sides dead due to terrorism from them or our retaliation, but that's exactly it. Retaliation. We're not allowed to shoot first, we have to spot a guy, call it in, wait a bit for deliberation, and they walk off most the time before clearance to fire.
That's how the war works, not only are we working against ourselves, we're facing dirty tactics from the enemy. These soldiers are apologizing on their own behalves because they got memes from media or other sources that what they're doing is wrong and feel bad, and in reality they shouldn't. The unedited video has what looks to be an RPG tube on it. The trained men watching that noticed it and took action. It's the terrorists fault they fight in civilian clothes against the Geneva Convention that clearly states all fighters have uniform of some type on. These guys shouldn't feel so bad for themselves but the public has SUCH a negative opinion on the war that they do. Our soldiers already have low morale due to the conditions they are put in ROE-wise and are much more easily swayed. Them feeling bad is not being human, it's being manipulated.

Trust me... they are paying for the mistake....
You know... one time I was on guard duty, at an entry control point.... and I made a judgment call and allowed a VBIED to go past me.......... less then a minute later two of my good friends were dead..........
trust me.......... in every situation, there are two choices, and which ever one you make during the time is the wrong one........ the only way to win is not to play..

So, then, there's a question. Don't misunderstand me, this is not a criticism, just a genuine desire to understand. Why being a soldier in the first place, if you know it will lead you to those impossible choices ?
I mean, I can understand being a soldier when your own country is attacked and you have to defend your home, family, fellow citizens. But when you're fighting a war abroad? That has no tie (or almost) to the security of your nation? That is, most of the time, only to the benefits of the people selling weapons and the people being in charge?
That's what I find the most difficult to understand.
But once again, it's no criticism, just I want to know....

Some people join the military to pay off debt... for security.. school... to get away from their previous situation... some countries make it mandatory to join a branch...
Osama, Taliban, Afghanistan... They attacked.....So some people joined because we were attacked.... Most of the world thought the US was attacked on September 11th 2001.
Most Army personal do not get to pick and choose which area of the world they go to, be it Haiti for rescue efforts (US Comfort and a lot of troops)... Or be it Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan or whatever. You follow orders, if my Captain told us to storm a building we would storm a building.....
Most often times recruiters do not go into a whole lot of detail as to what you may or may not be doing.... Not every Marine gets to deal in situations that involve those impossible decsions, just the lucky ones... *sorry morbid humor*

I wanted to actually get out and see the world beyond what I had already seen. How many people here normally get to go respond to disasters in the world? Anyone on this community go help Haiti after the earthquake? Anyone here go help Pakistan after their earthquake awhile back? Anyone here ever teach teenagers in Sudan?
