Do you need to play the first two games before Eschalon Book III if you want to 100% enjoy it?

Guess I'll jump in: you don't need to have played the first two, but the three games are basically one long related narrative (although you play different characters for Book I and Book II). So you can easily play Book III without having played the first two, but you'll have missed out on some lore and backstory. Not a huge deal though, I don't think.

I never found the story and lore to be the strong suit of that series anyway, unlike Baldurs Gate for example.
