It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Crosmando: Nah, Desura is not DRM-free, it's DRM-neutral, so she is more like GOG's slightly whacky half-sister with a history of dating bad boyfriends and drinking too much.

mondo84: You can download game installers, and you can run games outside of the client. Seems DRM-free to me.
No, Crosmando is right. Those points you just listed are because Desura doesn't have any DRM of its own. It doesn't mean the games are necessarily DRM-free though, it's totally up to the developers whether they want to put DRM-on, hence the term DRM-neutral.

I see what you guys mean. Yea, I agree. I guess I meant that their client itself is DRM-free, but I realize that some games have their own DRM separate from the Desura client.

But I can't think of any that fit this category, since Desura is largely games from indie developers without any AAA publishers that typically saddle games with DRM.
I'm a bit disappointed at the amount they showed the monster on the trailer... Is it the only one?

Wait, I don't know if I want to be answered that.

I might try this at some point.

OldFatGuy: Never mind, I went ahead and tried and sure enough a client is required.

Psyringe: Desura doesn't make it terribly obvious that you don't need their client, but you really don't. - Go to the page lowyhong linked to - Click on the "Free" button next to the WIndows icon. - In the Desura popup, click on "view standalone downloads" - click on the link to the standalone download
I just tried again, I created an account and tried to download it, and it continues to say I need the client installed. What am I doing wrong?

ADDED IN EDIT: Ooops, my bad. Found the link you were talking about and downloading it now.

THANK YOU very much for the step by step, cause I NEVER would've figure that out. THANKS man.
