Hello,
I really am enjoying GOG, but I would like to know if there is a way to get email alerts whenever there are any announcements from GOG. I have already selected to receive email from GOG when there are "new releases" and "discounts and promos", but I don't get a lot of the GOG announcements. Looking over the last week of posts, I didn't get any emails for:
- Rise of the Triad promo
- GOG @ E3 2011
- Age of Wonders Promo June 3rd
- Get Huge with GOG.com - video trailer
- News : New release Wing Commander, Privateer
- CDP Summer Conference
Is there any way to get an email whenever GOG announces something?

I get email from GOG a few times a week. Is that because I bought something?

I did ask specifically about email for GOG Gem promos and they said they choose to advertise them only on social media. Your best bet is to subscribe to the RSS feed (http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/rss). There are services which will send you an email whenever an RSS feed is updated. I have used Yahoo alerts for this because I found it sends emails within a couple of hours of an update unlike others I tried which were much slower.

I use facebook and have added GOG and I get some announcements that way. Not bad.

We're not emailing every announcement to our users, as this would probably piss a lot of them. Newsletters are for big announcements (like getting new publisher or having a big event on GOG.com) and for weekend promos or specials like Holiday Promo, etc.

It's funny I'm aware of any gog 'event' before I even get the mail. I check this site too often I guess :P

First time trying to use RSS.
I've put your RSS url into my phone news widget and the news do not appear in the published order. Maybe because all your news in the RSS share the same publication date and time:
"<pubDate>Wed, 08 Jun 2011 05:11:30 EDT"
Am I missing something or is something wrong with the RSS dates?

The weirder thing is that the emails usually come out 1-2 days after the event, assuming its an email worthy event.

Am I missing something or is something wrong with the RSS dates?
I quickly installed Google RSS Reader on my phone and there's indeed something wrong with the latest news (they are also all published yesterday at 5:11 for me) - the old news appear correctly. I'll check with our devs what can be the reason behind that. Thx!
