The games are already available for free on Bethesda's site. All you need is DOSBox to run them. :)

Check the Elder Scrolls site. As of now, both games are actually freeware.
Ah, I checked one site like that a couple of months ago after discovering a link or a thread to the elder scrolls site. But it was down and not working! I wanted to cry :p but it seems as its up and running now though. Excellent! *evil fingertapping*

Arena is a bit too rough for me now, but Daggerfall is still a great game. Personally I am extremely hopeful that DaggerXL will actually come out someday so I can replay it using that. Google it if you want to know more, it's basically an engine update like GZDoom or EDuke.
Sweet!
Now to once more figure out how to make them games start via Dosbox.. sigh.

you can find installation instructions on the website KavazovAngel posted.
It would be nice if GOG could provide free packages for those games, just like they did for Beneath a Steel Sky and Lure of the Temptress. It could drag new people into GOG's awesomeness.
Go here to download Arena (CD version) configured with DOSBox:

Arena is the CD version 1.07 (better than the one released by Bethesda).
Daggerfall is already patched to the latest version 1.07.213, including Fixsave 1.75 and CompUSA special content. It also includes a lot of fan-made fixes, but they're all optional to install.

Wiser words have never been spoken. I concur. Can someone poke gog-team please?

Well they would have to work that out with Bethesda who, as of now, are not working with GOG at all. Not sure what they would put on GOG for cost either, as Morrowind is still worth more than $10, at least packaged with expansions.

Just because a game is released for free on the developer/publisher website doesn't mean it's legal to download it elsewhere.
These links should probably be removed.......

Ok. You should remove them from the quote too then.
Good games both, I always liked save scumming at the beginning of Arena to get the best loot from the random treasure piles.
You could walk out of the first dungeon with some serious gear that way.
it should be a very good idea if GOG could add these titles to its catalog.
of course a price would be fairly paid if the release would come along with documentation and other stuff as usual.
