To play the game, rather than having to wait 9 years?
Anyway, opinion[EA]++;

Judging by the fact the link leads to the freeware Classics page, you may be wrong. Although I wonder how they're going to cock up the install process this time. I've got the (increasingly irrelevent) First Decade bundle, anyway, so I'm OK.

I don't regret buying it. It's nice to have all the games on one DVD.
I don't regret it either, mainly because the community patch for the First Decade bundle is awesome. It's just that, for people who haven't bought it, you're only getting Red Alert 2 (which may become freeware shortly), Renegade (which will be superseeded by Renegade X once they sort out their UDK version) and Generals (which isn't very popular) over what you can legally download.
[Edit] Funky quote error alert! GOG should really fix that...

I hope we will see Generals 2. Generals was a really good for me. Gameplay and it's soundtrack was awesome.

Me too, but the installer and game chooser alone is worth the €5 I paid for the pack.
BWT, C&C needs a small patch, or the GDI campaign crashes in one of the missions. (c&c tfd 1.02)

Red Alert 2 has one of the best single player campaigns in an RTS game. No nostalgia here, because I first played it about a year ago. I had played other C&C games before though.
Kudos to EA for releasing it (if they do).

What was wrong with it? Do you mean how they simply distributed them as ISO images rather than making installers? (I personally prefer this method).

Its nice that its free, but an optional installer version would also be nice. Does the ISO require mounting each time you want to play it?

Yeap, but you can burn the ISO's to CD's or you can use unofficial No-Cd patches.
