What is EA playing at? They're releasing an indie bundle on steam and EA is the most opposite company I can think of to be indie.Indie is meant to be free from corporate meddling yet EA is the master of that: Bioware being a perfect example note the difference in gameplay after the EA takeover. Personally I think EA are trying to cash in another fad like Battlefield/Call of Duty and The Old Republic/World of Warcraft. That's my personal opinion but what does everyone else think of the matter?
They did this last year with Deathspank and Shank games on Steam

Sort of Indie but not quite

I think indie is currently a catch word since recent low budget independent games are labeled Indie, so EA is in my opinion, using the tag to attract unsuspecting customers to their line of low budget games, because they see a market there, proven by games like those sold by the indie bundles, who became well recognized and were selling for aprox. 18% to 27% the price of AAA titles of course there's sale records to be accounted for but I don't have any numbers on that front.
Didn't we go through this back in May? Where's this new bundle?
the difinition has changed:

see Indie music for reference.

but i totally agree. EA is about as far as you can get.
It probably means that EA is thinking of killing these companies pretty soon.

Sorry may have read about the may sale, thought it was new due to being in a website's headlines but apparently not.
I may hate EA, but they helped Kiei Entertainment fund and publish both Shank games, which allowed them to start doing their own thing - like that Ninja game they recently released.

Suppose, but EA seem to go about it wrong most gamers hate EA due to their greedy attitude.
Shock, horror a game company want to make money !!!111!1

Anyway, it is a good sign, as it means EA is kind of going back to its roots when it was under Trip Hawkins. In case everyone forgets, EA stands for Electronic Arts, and in the beginning it was set up as a response to companies like Atari and made the game makers more prominent as opposed to the companies. Indies should have a home there. Good for them.
If the EA "indie" bundle did not contain indie games, then a lot of other "indie" games (like Bastion, LIMBO and so on) are not indie either, as they were published and at least partially funded by larger non-independent publishers. EA published and helped fund the games in the EA indie bundle, but the companies behind those games are still independent.
I have a strange feeling of deja vu...

I don't see how what they do is any different to what Steam does to be honest. BOTH want a piece of the indie pie. That's greed.
