so, is this game any good? I'm listening to the soundtrack right now and it has a very cavestory-y feel... also the trailers seem quite promising.

I'm playing it for review. It's really really really good.

Of course, it's also really hard. It's a difficult twitch/memorization platformer in the style of Super Meat Boy, but in order to unlock more levels you must beat previous levels perfectly with absolutely no slip ups (i.e. get S rankings). If you're not great at platformers, I would skip it. I consider myself really good at platformers, and I still find it pretty tough.

But it's beautiful looking and very fluid, so I would still highly recommend it if you don't mind a challenge.

exactly... and I DO suck at platformers. plus there are checkpoints throughout the levels but when you quit the game you need to do the whole level again...

but it looks so damn awesome and the music is really great! I curse my dumb fingers :)

The checkpoints are deceiving. In order to receive a perfect score and unlock a new level, you have to go through the whole level without losing your combo. Unfortunately, dying makes you lose your combo, so you have to start from the front.

But I don't blame you at all for passing. Like I said, it's an excellent game but not at all forgiving. I think they probably should have allowed you to pass a level with only an A ranking, cause some levels are near impossible to get an S. It really rewards perfection which is probably going to hurt it sales wise. But for anyone who loves hard platformers like Super Meat Boy or N+, this is one of the best I've ever played.
