This thread REALLY needs more support.

We will not rest until we have won!!!!
I agree we need Dungeon Siege if nothing else so we can play the excellent remake of Ultima V, Lazarus. The makers of Lazarus have made it a free add-in to DS, but they expect you to own a legal copy of Ultima 5 (which, incidentally, you can get right here with the Ultima IV,V,VI trilogy so that problem is solved already).

Lazarus expands on the game a lot, and it is best to play after having played the original U5. I am replaying it through my GOG purchased copy in hopes this will come true and we will be able to get the Dungeon Siege here and play Lazarus. Think about it; people will buy DS, buy U5, and then download Lazarus, That's two products purchased here in one shot.
I think GOG should give this man an early birthday present.

:)
This was the most recent thread I could find related to Dungeon Siege and the DS universe. After completing a good portion of the game, some of it which I completed previously, I have determined I personally like DS 3 better than Diablo 3. I respect everyone's opinions, but at least in DS 3 I get loot every so often which is actually an upgrade, and there's no auction house to speak of, so I don't have to save up my gold to buy a new kit every 5-8 levels.

The action is much better paced and much more "oh shit if I don't actively block and barrel roll I'll die". I love that. I also love the fact that the story, while not as strong as D3, is actually meaningful to me being a DS nut. Also, the graphics are superb compared to D3, and the cutscenes much nicer.

Just my two cents,

I really enjoyed DS3, I still have the original DS games and expansions as well.

I believe the PC version had a bad camera angle but I played the 360 version and had no problems, which reminds me I bought some DLC for it which totally forgot about, so I'm gonna have to rectify that over the weekend :)

Do it! :) I'm about to fire DS3 back up again, and I wish I hadn't given my copies of DS2 + Broken World away...
I'd love to get the first one again.

I have the second, and love it.

I played a demo of the third and said "No way".
Never played the first one, the second one is one of my favorite games of all time, and the third one I enjoy, though not as much as the second. It's obvious how dumbed down it is, but hay, I picked up my copy for $5 for the game + Treasures DLC so I don't feel like I got robbed.

Plus, now that I'm at least 25% through the story, I want to finish it. It's good enough to keep me hooked, and I'd like to cross another one off my backlog. I can definitely tell from people who have been fans from the beginning why they wouldn't like 3.

I often wonder why GPG didn't do 3. They don't seem to be doing much of anything anymore. I'm even to the point where I'm about to reinstall Space Siege just so I have a quasi-DS2 experience, because there's no way I can afford a copy of DS 2 right now.
IM a Necromancer RAWR!

j/k <3 Dungeon siege still, that's all

JudasIscariot: The only thing Dungeon Siege 1 is good for is to play the total conversion Ultima V: Lazarus.
Pretty much this, a fantastic conversion it is. The Ultima 6 Project (aka U6P) has also been released in the last few months which is also a very well done conversion, so now there are two reasons to still have an old copy of DS1 around.

Not quite sure why you didnt like it, but I dont think a demo of DS 3 would be much use when you consider there are three characters with a very diverse range of skills, the combat I thought was really fun and of course it had a replayability of 3 for me for the different combat styles.

If you see it going cheap, I would suggest you take a punt and the DLC is quite good too.

Well, it was quite a while ago, I don't remember much about it myself except that I didn't like it. Then again, I felt that way about Two Worlds too and ended up loving it. So perhaps someday.

Indeed.
Hello GoGites, and the GoG overlord

I've come to say that I've been trying to install DS1 these passed few days, but no matter what I try to do to overcome the compatibility issues I can not get this game to work.

I am here in my sadness, and made even more sad by the fact that GoG still does not have Dungeon Siege available for download.
