Anyone heard about his... thing?

That's a fancy way to write 2012
Features include
Class action abilities
I don't think they'll get enough players for class action.

The backstory of Dungeon Lords in general. Once D.W. Bradley who designed Wizardry 5,6,7 decided to make an old-school first-person RPG (wink wink) in his own company. That game was Wizards and Warriors, and you can see it has quite a following...

Yes, whole 3 lines, for a game where a bipedal elephant makes a good cleric. Something to do with the awful interface, being quite buggy upon release and barely patched.
Then there were Dungeon Lords. TPS/RPG released in Ultima 9/M&M9 state. Barely functioning and empty. Cue a ton of patches and Gold release, which supposedly fixed it.
By "fixed" I mean, it's still the kind of game where swarms of rats (or goblins, or thieves) spawn out of fucking nowhere at random all the time.

I dread to think, what this resurrected cadaver plays like in its 2012 edition.

but you must give credit to the storyline though:

"a tale of Love, Hate, Betrayal, Revenge, Honor, and Evil."

they have more or less cowered all the bases there.
I remember this, I tried it when it was released but I didn't understand a thing and I also remember it being buggy and it lagged a lot. The new version however feels like a single player version of WoW and the random respawn encounters (which luckily you can reduce in options or increase if you want) makes it rather dull. Other than, it's mediocre in the beginning at least.

The new version supports up to 8 players in co-op if anyone cares, might get some attention.

I see a GOG release incoming ...

Not to mention, that 'fixes' in that Gold/Collector's Edition were not available for previous owners. Basically they tried to sell the game second time for full price.
And now apparently for the third time -_- At least it isn't $40 like the previous ones, but good luck with that anyway.

And no, that isn't the statement whether such product may or may not appear here. I don't even have access to such information. I just wanted to express my personal dislike of such practices and that particular title in general ;)
It's a truly awful game....
Can't wait for the MMXIII HD Release next year :)

(No, I don't know if this will happen, but could be)

Uhm, this is the HD release? Dungeon Lords MMXII

*Updated full hardware Screen Resolution support (16:10, 16:9, 1920x1080 etc.)
*Full World and Character Re-mastering for enhanced gameplay experience
*Improved Graphic & Visual Enhancements

Maybe I'm mistaken. Are they going to milk this a 4th time? o.O

I don't know... was just thinking about a HD release someday to milk it more. The graphics are still looking very outdated.

Nirth: *Improved ... Enhancements
But are they advanced?

Damn, Nordic page is even more goofy.
Newly Re-Mastered Audio sounds and speech
So that no one confuses them with video sounds.
New dynamic Treasure & Equipment generation, featuring Uncommon, Rare & Epic items

Yeah, it was a awful shame. It could have been great when it first came out years ago.
An interesting GB interview with DW on this new version

Lou: An interesting GB interview with DW on this new version
Interesting is not the word
fast-paced yet satisfying combat
...aka click the bastards until they stop moving.

The he goes on to explain how he accidentally invented the WOW-style action bar GUI.

Then this
One of the most short-sighted RPG design flubs at the time, in Dungeon Lords and other games such as Oblivion, was having so many magic spells and only 8 hot-key slots for casting them - doh! The new action bar in DL MMXII supports 12 hot-key spells and actions
Yes, its just that one design flub...
Not to mention that Dungeon Lords and other games such as Oblivion is a bit pushing it, and I'm not even a fan of Oblivion.

Here's a drinking game - reading the interview drink every time the word "class" is used.
The most significant change was to make all magic spells share a common Mana pool, providing players much greater freedom of choice for casting magic spells during combat.
That's what the designers of ammo system in Deus Ex 2 thought...

And the fact that the game was released in 2000 and did not work well in Windows 2000 or XP (which was released in 2001) might have been a contributing factor to its short lifespan & the lack of a decent fanbase. It is apparently not a bad game... when it works.
Dual Switchable Interface Modes (supports Hot-Key action play and Point&Click play)
So basically you can press a key on your keyboard or click on the ability icon to activate an ability? Like say World of Warcraft, Everquest, Neverwinter Nights, Drakensang or Dragon Age?

They really are grasping at straws in that feature list.

Blasphemer! Read the interview linked above. It took the man several weeks to design this feature on his own... before he realised "oh, it's just like WoW".
