Wishbone: I hear you. The game itself was fantastic, but the control scheme was awfully handicapped. Once you've gotten spoiled by modern RTS controls (not so modern actually, I think the control scheme has been more or less standardized since C&C1), going back and playing the original Dune 2 becomes an unpleasant experience.
Indeed, at the beginning it was very unpleasant. But you can get used to it and then it's very, very rewarding (especially watching one of your troop blowing up the Emperor!)

BTW Is that only my opinion that Atreides were by far the weakest fraction in the game?
I already voted to add Dune 2000 *and* Emperor of Dune, as games Gog should add. Both are top notch.

zomgieee: fans have made a lovely client called "Dune Legacy" that brings your Harkonnen slaying into modern, widescreen glory.
Damn, that looks pretty sweet. Thanks for that!
I still play Dune 2 in DosBox. Yeah, the interface is a bit more challenging than Dune 2000, but I still love mission 9 and how difficult it is to take down the two other houses and the Emperor's Sardaukar forces.

"Warning, Missile Approaching" AAAUGH!!
Our prayers will be heard...

maybe?

For house Ordos!!
