Let's do the time warp again*!

Welcome to our [url=http://www.gog.com]DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for a fascinating ride to the early days of PC gaming and back again, with 30 excellent titles selected from the years 1983-2013, available up to 90% off (that is for as little as $0.59!). You'll find amazing games in amazing prices featured one by one on GOG.com main page, and before the sale is done you'll be able to complete your very own display of gaming history on a budget below $65 (because this would be the cost to get every single game in the sale). Are you ready?

There's more than just buying games incredibly cheap to our DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! We're ready to pass its steering wheel (or rather the control console) to YOU. Each game in the sale is offered for a limited time only, and how long we stay in its year is up to you! Each time you see a new game on sale you can vote to either add or subtract 1 second from the timer. Each time you buy a game, you add 3 seconds to the time of it being on sale. We begin with 1983's Zork, bundled with the rest of the Zork Anthology of 6 games in total, for only $1.79. How long will it last on the front page? You'll be the judge. What comes next, as the game of 1984? Let's find out!

Let's take a trip in GOG.com's DRM-Free Time Machine Sale! 30 great games from 1983-2013 will be available up to 90% off, and you get to decide how long each game is on sale. Ready? The technomagical gateway to 1983 opens NOW!

* "Again?", you might ask, "when did they ever do the time warp?". Well, once you embark on a journey through time, all becomes relevant and there's absolutely no guarantee that what you are doing, you are doing for the first time. In fact, that's highly improbable. After all, time isn't linear. It's more like a giant wobbly-bobbly goggy-boggy ball of gaming awesome!

I thought The Witcher sale had ended? At least my browser thought so. What happened?

mattimao: Some games go from being "good" to being "great" once they are modded.
Indeed. I love the hi-res and mouselook mods for System Shock, and the Rebirth mods for System Shock 2. They make excellent games that little bit more excellent.

Your browser probably got disconnected from the callback code that fetches time changes from the server. So it just continued counting down normally, and thus expired. Had that happen on my tablet during this sale.
Does anybody here still have the link to post in insomnia sale thread, posted by Jack Keane's developers? Can't find it for the life o' me >_>

EDIT: nvm, found it. http://www.gog.com/forum/general/special_promo_fall_insomnia_promo/post6889

Well I am glad some folks still have the opportunity to travel back in time and get the games they missed thanks to generous time travelers like ClockwerkDE, another +1. Too bad I can't go back and get Prince of Persia which I missed. :(

mkdfan: Also what is this "Keane" people keep replacing words with? I think I'm missing an inside joke.
avatar
DrRoxo: During the insomniac sale Jack Keane 2 was offered. And almost stayed for good. People actually managed to get a good night's sleep and not miss any other games while JK was on. Some of us later recognised Keane as a benevolent being that gave us rest, when we were on the brink of sleep deprivation-driven madness. Thus, the Church of Keaning was created. November 15th is widely recognised as the keaning day, a day when we remember Keane's gifts to us.
To some, Keane is a god or a saint.

To others, he is the devil incarnate.

But to all, Jack Keane is one thing: a game you would not buy unless it was like 90% off, and even then, your money could probably be spent better elsewhere.
Oh man, missed Sam & Max. Picked up the Witcher though. Time to wait forever for 2009.
I really hope 2009 is Spelunky, I don't want to wait until 2013 anymore ... XD

To some this may be a simple Witcher GOG redeem key; but to others this is 3 seconds of space/time cleaved from the universe in a GOG DRM free time machine.

Ugh how long has Witcher been going now? It's getting close to my bed time. Looks like I'll miss the remaining sales. I might have all of them already though.
Glad I came home for lunch and this was still up.

Even though I DO like the ES (Skyrim) game, I can't see where there's any chance of really going bad for $2... And i loved modding up my Skyrim so much off Nexus i look forward to see what the mod community has to offer for something else

(sorry to those waiting for it to end though, I forgot to -1 before I bought... just wasted one second of your lives :P )

This takes eternity. And I've thought that everybody at GOG already had The Witcher 1 :)
