Just came across this game over at D2D (presently on sale for $9.95), and after reading up a bit on it & checking some YouTube videos for it, I've got some questions about the Combat system.
I only like turn-based combat (Fallout 1 & 2, Might & Magic 1-5), but I get the impression that this might be something I'd like. It says I can pause to give orders each round, but how exactly does that work? Seeing as it uses a 4 character party, I'll go with the standard FMTC party to illustrate my interpretation on how orders might be given...
Fighter - go attack "enemy x" via melee combat with your axe
Mage - launch a fireball into the group of enemies firing arrows at us off in the distance
Thief - fire your bow at "enemy x" while Fighter hacks away at him
Cleric - cast a heal spell on the Fighter, he's not looking too good
...and then the round would play out in real-time & start a new round for me to give new orders. Is that about right? And what determines the order of who goes first?
I may have more questions, depending on how combat is explained to me. If it still sounds like something I'd like, I'll ask them. If not, then that'll be the end of this thread. ;-)
