It is also available on the Playstation 2 if you can't get it to run on the PC. I bought it for the PS2 not too long ago but I have not tried it yet so I am not sure how good the port is.

The PlayStation 2 game is a sequel, not the same game, at least from what I've read.

Thats correct Arkrose.
Drakan: Order of the Flame worked pretty well on Windows 7 last time I played it. Crashed a few times, but otherwise it was fine. Think I was using the 445++ patch.

I actually played Drakan: The Ancients' Gates before Order of the Flame >_>
(hadn't heard of the series before then, was quite happy when I found out there was another game in the series)

The Ancients' Gates works perfectly in PCSX2 if you want to play it with better than PS2 graphics.

I thought this thread might be about Drakkhan, the Infogrames cRPG of early 90's

Disappointment

Didn't even know they had sequel. Thank you for letting me know. I need to check it out one of these days when I have a bit more time.
A little bump here wondering if anyone made the 10th Anniversary work? It some graphical hack mod that is supposed to be able to utilize all kinds of fancy graphics including complex shaders which after trying them I would prefer to play with them but the game has a huge performance cut that shouldn't be there and some small graphical artifacts. I'm playing the gold version with 445++ patch which work as intended without this 10th Anniversary mod.

As best I understand it, the 10th Anniversary just adds a layer of post-processing, which I find mostly superfluous and unnecessary, at least without added detail to back it up. Plus, the author's been unable to update it since February.

What does look promising is this little hack, dealing mostly with FoV and some bugs. It's fairly new and the applications seems somewhat involved, but if the guy keeps up with it, it may lead to some significant improvements (draw distance? dare I hope?).

That does look more interesting as I would really want a higher FOV and view distance, it's both too zoomed in and too much fog when you fly the dragon.

Have you tried? Does it work with the 445++ patch?

Haven't tried it yet, sorry. But I do believe it's meant to work with the 445++ patch, or is built upon it.
It seems it has the 445++ patch in it, you only need the original 445 patch but admin rights as well.
Psygnosis became part of Sony who seem to have zero interest in doing anything with their IP, including Lemmings, which seems insane in a world full of casual mobile gaming...

Also, how am I the first person to say this in this thread in 4 years?

Lemmings has been available as abandonware and pirated copies forever, I believe the majority of people who wanted them already have played them enough, but Lemmings would be a great series for this site. Or perhaps a kickstarter for a remake? :P

Yeah I was think more of some kind of iOS Lemmings-for-the-'10's update

Basically, it surprises me that no one milks Lemmings like Team 17 milk Worms O_o
