Dr.M. has stolen our marketing plans, taken our game masters, absconded with our video trailers, and pilfered our contracts! Coala suggests that we should track down the evil Dr., but how in the world can we do that? We know that he has our "Get HUGE" formula, and we suspect that Dr. M. is going to the headquarters of our next publisher--and we know it's one of the five we've already mentioned in our CDP Days Conference this Spring. One of our clever developer guys pointed out that the only way that Dr. M. could have found GOG's secret headquarters (as opposed to our regular, non-secret one) would be to have put a tracking device somewhere. We've tracked Dr. M's tracker (ha! Take that, evil!) and we're plotting his location on a world map with each of our possible upcoming publishers' locations in them. Keep tuned for more updates as we triangulate on the signal and try to track down...the DASTARDLY DR. M.!

the mysterious Dr. M. made his appearance was way back in September, when we re-launched and moved the service out from the beta. Now, with the big announcement quickly approaching, it seems that Dr. M. has come out of the shadow once again. What's he up to this time? Find out more in the tale of great horror, entitled "Dr. M. & The Dastardly Doom". What horrors await? What grim future is coming to GOG.com?

We'll be posting the next pages of the comic in the next days so stay tuned to this news post as the story will reveal more info on Dr. M. and the secret briefcase!

Alright, it only looks similar to it but isn't the Uplink world map. You're right.
It'll be Take 2.

BTW did you ever finish that game? I could never get past the steep curve around the time you have to hack in to that Arc server via ANOTHER arc server and bypassing a shitload of proxies/etc. I always usually try building up tech/skills and doing odd jobs but by the time it comes to do that bit I fail badly.

Also I ntoiced that if you don't reply to that one email that gets you into the main storyline in time then you can't enter it period...of course that could just be a bug.

You must've gotten that far at least...it's not that far in.
I am hoping its either Square.LA or EA since I don't RTS games and that what the majority of the other two's pc catalog are.I wanna buy some stuff on gog.com and them signing these publishers would be the perfect excuse. I know others love the genre but I would love a break from all the strategy game releases.
if its take 2 or Microsoft i think I'll sell a kidney in preparation for the GOG's!
I'd rebuy AoE2 Gold and Rise of Nations Gold to have them in digital downloads...
My vote's for all five... it sounds ridiculous, yes, but they already said they have more than 25 games prepped to come out, plus they used the logos, and if I was a major publisher that hadn't signed a deal with a company I would not want them using my logo (even if they asked for permission). Anyways, if not then why would they choose these five companies? It's not like there aren't other publishers that haven't signed up. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I think all 5 would be a serious prospect.
Blah blah blah, just get us System Shock 2.

All of them will come to GOG, but not all of them come now. The rest join this fall if i know it right.

That reads like a preamble for an epic contest!

Dr. M has an agenda. His target selection is purposeful. But to what purpose? All we know is it's something big! He must be stopped before it is too late! The Goggites can track him, but the data comes too late to prevent the attack. The Goggites need help! They enlist the Goggins (GOG community) in an attempt to ambush the dastardly doc at his next target. But where in the world will he strike next!? The Goggins must look for clues from the docs previous attacks. Somewhere in the docs history there is a pattern. Find the pattern to determine his next target. Ambush him there to save the day... and win a prize!

I can totally see GOG doing this (or even a forumer): guess publisher + first game released (or close enough to the first game). We are a contest happy group.

You may be right, but if it was Lucasarts they would definitely have more than 25 games they could release. All the X-Wing games (yes, I list them first because I want them on GOG bad!), Dark Forces games, Rebel Assault 1 and 2, Force Commander, Empire at War games, KotoR games, Monkey Island and other adventure games, etc. etc. etc. LEC has a HUGE back-catalog that would find new life on GOG.

I'm kind of sad that we haven't seen a classic release from them on Steam in over a year, when they have so many classic games that aren't on there yet, but it still takes time and resources to get them up and handing it over to GOG means GOG can spend those time and resources. I expected a lot more from Lucasarts when they announced classic games were coming to Steam but after about the second wave they just stopped...so I really think its Lucasarts and we'll see a lot more than just what's up on Steam (X-Wing!!!).

SLP2000: Even then - LA is mainly adventure games (which I love) and Star Wars. If you are not interested in SW or adventures, then it's just a company with some classic games, but it's not that exciting.
And contrary to that, EA would be huge for everyone.
This.

They are testing 25+ games from that mysterious publisher (Monk said that on Spring Conference) - not for just for fun but to release them here. Although I would jump sky high if it's LA - I doubt it would be reasonable to release in coming 2-3 months only adventures and SW games. I don't know if it's going to be EA but I bet on a publisher with diverse catalog (as it comes to game genres).
