Hi everybody,
I have a very weird problem with the GOG downloader. I am on W8 pro, and I downloaded the latest version (3.3.14). It executes and asks for my login/psw. Until here eveything is normal. When I fill the login/psw, it says the login or psw is wrong, and then ... then "log me in" button becomes inactive ! When I fly the mouse over, it doesn't highlight, and when I click, it doesn't do anything. I tried removing login and psw, then re-typing it, even typing other random text, but the button always seems to be "dead". I closed and restarted the downloader : same behaviour. Tried to run it as administrator : same behaviour. This is on my desktop computer with W8 pro 32 bits.
I installed the same on my laptop with W8 pro 64 bits. I am witnessing the exact same behaviour : after the first click since installation, the button "log me in" becomes "dead".
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the problem persists. Worse : the button is inactive on application startup.
I tried re-downloading it, then uninstalling/reinstalling : same problem.
I tried uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling : the button is active on startup, then I type my login/psw, then same problem.
In first approach, it looks like a compatibility bug ... I have installed AIR and .NET 3.0 before the manipulation (it is strange that I have to install it manually, on XP the GOG downloader automatically started the AIR installation). I don't understand what could be the source of this behaviour.
Note : I recently switched to W8. I previously used the downloader on the same machine on XP, and never encountered any problem.
Attached : the state of the window after the first click. On this printscreen the ouse is over the "log me in" button. The cursor doesn't appear, but the behaviour is visible : the "log me in" button doesn't even highlight and is inactive, wathever I type in the fills.
I thank by advance to any person who would be able to have an idea on the cause of this behaviour. I the meantime, I will use the standard / direct download.
