Hey all,
As subject says. Whats the big deal about DOTA 2?. Never played the first one. Looking in wiki and also looking at Totalbiscuit videos about this. Looks kinda neato. However, why are people always begging for invites etc?. I see i have the DOTA 2 Spectator Client on my steamlist - whats the point?. 5GB download for that?
Hmmmm all those people in steam forums begging for an invite....is the game (albeit in beta) that good?.

Early access to a beta F2P game for $22.49 ?..Someone is making a heap of money somewhere....

Free to Play does not Free to Make make. Dunno if they're making a heap of money with selling that early access when they're also distributing those invites and whatever codes everywhere.

I've only played DOTA 1, and watched 2 being played. 2 is pretty much a copy of the first one when it comes to gameplay. The game is fun to play and watch, but the community is mostly rotten, and can really ruin the fun of it, especially since it's a team game. I stopped playing the first one because there were so many extremely rude and hateful people that playing the game (and so being exposed to 'em) made me feel awful.

Whats in your Steam account is only the spectator client, not the beta game. You have to have a beta invite to play. Its easy enough to get, but u still need it to unlock gameplay.
Wait, it's going to be F2P? Didn't know that.
I have a couple of invites that I sent to my friends a few days ago, they didnt accept them or something because they are pending. I could resend them to you and someone else who is interested. Just let me know

Hello
I would like to have the invite if you still have it.
Thanks
Well it's just a very well designed game that is as blast to play. It has a ridiculous amount of depth and I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys games period.

It's basically the heroes system from Warcraft 3 turned into something else.

The community can be rough though, so play with friends if possible at least when you're starting out (it does get nicer though the higher you get in MMR)
it's a fun game, the gameplay is "simple to learn, difficult to master",several heroes to choose with their own abilities;personalities and play styles
I'll be honest I have no idea what the hype is about. I suppose it's just the flavor of the month.
Its anti-fun game, I like it a lot.
I still have 4 gifts if someone is interested, that is, the first 4 people.
If anyone wants it, I have 7-8 keys. They have been throwing them at people like they are cheep sweets. Just message me your e-mail.

If you don't know what it is though, be a little weary of the player base. It's not just that they are dicks, the games designed in such a way that it's extra frustrating if someone on your team is playing badly. When someone dies it gives the other team an advantage and such advantages can snowball. It's not all a bad thing though it does make sure the game doesn't get caught in a stalemate.
