The mayor of Wellford, South Carolina is now ordering the cops to NOT run and chase a suspect.
You read right.
“As of this date, there are to be no more foot chases when a suspect runs. I do not want anyone chasing after any suspects whatsoever.“ That's what the memo she sent to the police officers says.
You know why? Because injuries caused by running and chasing suspects (even in cars) jacks up the insurance costs. Yes, because of the insurance.
At least I know where to rob a bank.
Maybe now they'll shoot at sight.

probably next memo will say exactly to do so

michaelleung: Don't run, suspect! Please!

Oh, all right - since you asked so nicely.
I used to be a Security Forces member in the US Air Force, and this was pretty much our squadron rule at Ramstein, for the exact same reasons.
The biggest difference is, you had to pass through one of two manned gates to actually get out of base, and every time we had a suspect run, he was always caught within a few hours.
So what are they supposed to use, foul language? Interesting. So the next crime wave will go thusly....
Purse snatcher snatches purse...
Cop sees purse snatcher, purse snatcher freezes, and then runs for it...
"Hey You! Stop! I'm not supposed to run!" LOL @ the thought.
All this shows is that insurance companies really are evil.

Who would be dumb enough to do something stupid on a military base?
Unfortunately though there is no such manned gates within a city. Unless it's Israel.

Don't be silly. The amunition is too expensive. They are to use strong words and twigs found on the street.

LOL That's even better...
Cop screams: "Put the gun down or by God, I'm gonna hit you with this stick!"
Maybe a wonder woman style lasso
Heres hoping they CAN shoot them on sight. Then they pull the fleeing felon rule (Anyone injured during a escape is the fault of the escapee, so friendly fire = +1 murder charge for felon). *sigh* that would be the day.....

News from Welford in 2010
A police car armed with two miniguns opened fire at 78 year old female, name withheld, who refused to stop after crossing the red light, just 10 minutes after 8 in the morning, near local elementary school. She died immediately when her car exploded just after few seconds of being underfire. The causalities including one parent and her 9 year old daughter and two seriously injured 10 year olds who were taken immediately to Mother Teresa hospital.
The mayor called the officers just an hour after the event to congratulate on job well done and to inform them of receiving an award for keeping our streets save!
In other news:
Smoking in public is now illegal...

"You run like a dairy farmer"
Watch the video of the mayor being interviewed. This is freaking hilarious.
This is one of those rare moments where the white person actually has a point.
I mean, they voted for her?

It's like catch and release... except you never catch them.
Is it too much to ask that government is more than a pathetic spineless waste of space?
I wouldn't trust that woman to run a lemonade stand.
