ThermioN: omg... when will people shut up about "broken" PS3s because of this update.
There's an option to boot to some sort of emergency-mode and flash a new firmware via usb.

read the f ing manual :)
Read the posts above by Arkose. You can't downgrade a firmware, so the only way to fix it is by formating the hard drive or replacing it.
Sony Fanboys: "Praise be to master Sony! They shall deliver us from evil Microsoft DRM and used-game restrictions!"
Sony: *Attacks users with bugged firmware, bricking systems worldwide*
Sony Fanboys: "But master it hurts! How have we failed you!"
People don't seem to rage much about this. Also, seems like many have forgotten the hacking disaster that happened a year or two ago.

It wasn't just the hacking, it was the fact that Sony was keeping the credit card details of it's customers in unencrypted plain txt files.

I don't recall raging about Xboxes "Red Ring of Death" or whateva before, so I don't see any reason to rage about this either. I presume it has something to do with these things being unintentional, so they didn't have any ill motives behind these incidents. They should have been more careful, naturally.

On the other hand, Microsoft trying to push strict DRM to console market is not unintentional, so rage mode on! :) Then again, at least they had sense to listen to the negative feedback.

No press coverage - no raging. It's like no one wants to drop their chances of getting a free PS4 now ^_^
The only place where people actively complained was the ps forum (which nobody ever visits normally), and the thread was getting 1000 replies every 24 hours for the first few days.
Most here are pc players, so they don't have anything to do with this. So why creating a thread about a console on a pc only place. Gog is the place for pc classics and not consoles.
Lol, this is the general forum, here we discuss about videogames, all videogames...and I wanted to give players an advice to avoid to brick their console.
I have a PS3, and I play both on PC and console. A game it's a game.

Thanks for the heads up have some rep, some people have consoles AND PC's, what a weird and funny world we live in. :)
So, I decided to check how last week's 4.46 is doing.
