I want to play Mirror's Edge in 3D... really bad. But, although I could save for the monitor and glasses (and it would be useful for other games as well), it seems expensive. A 120hz LCD does sound appealing, but should I just wait until prices drop? Does anyone use anything they would recommend?
Is there nowhere you can get a demo of the stuff you're after? Most good shops will let you try something out before you buy it if they really want to sell it to you

Honestly, I have no idea where I can demo some nVidia specs with a 120Hz monitor. I have a Fry's near me, but I never saw 3D kits for sale when I was picking up my graphics card. And there's Best Buy, but I don't think they carry this sort of thing either. I guess I will start searching, because I would like to try it out for myself, but I think I might have to rely on the opinions of others for this purchase.
I would urge caution when looking at extremely expensive outlays for a technology only one company is promoting.
Wait till the tech catches on and comes down in price or you could end up like the owner of an Ageia PhysX card.

Ugh.... I know that you're right, but it sounds like they've really made it worthwhile for hundreds of games, many of which I own. I would prefer "passive" glasses rather than "active" ones, and I have a feeling that passive ones will catch on whenever 3D does... but it sounds like an awesome experience that already exists. Also, that 120Hz monitor is something that some people want even when they aren't in it for the 3D tech. I guess I could be rationalizing a really bad decision, though.
