OK I guess most of you guys know and love Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, King of Fighters and other series. Pretty cools games. Particularly when played with another person in versus mode. It kinda hard though. Most of the time you know the game much better than your random game partner. So why not start honing your skills and play with yourself?

Really, created this thread just because I have seen this.

Do you ever tried to play a fighting game against yourself?
Ha, I've got trouble controlling a strategy game at two places at a time, this would kill my brain! Something my wife should try thou :D
I can't even controll my little man properly in single player, so........

I think the only 2D beat'em up games I ever enjoyed were Karate Champ and Yie Ar Kung Fu (coin op versions). I never could figure out the newer games in the genre, what was supposed to make them fun. I concluded you'd have to play them against a friend before it would be interesting.

Since I did find some 3D beat'em ups, namely Virtua Fighter 1-2, mildly interesting, at some point I bought Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution for PS2, just so that I'd own the ultimate version of the best beat'em up series that I know.

I never played it that much, but lately I've played it a bit against my gf. It seems neither of us really know how to play it, so we just repeatedly make one move that seems to work against the other, and when that starts failing, switch to another random move and keep repeating that. My gf seems to find that game quite a lot of fun even that way, but I get bored quite fast. Then again, she loves Kinect sports games as well, while I couldn't care less. Different strokes etc.
