Not a Minecraft fan?

I'm ok with the game and I understand its appeal to the people. Just that for me it is not at the top of the wishlist. I did watch some videos of it, and I think I might enjoy it to a certain extent. But than again - I have so many games I would rather play now that I do not know whether and when I might try it. Out of similar games I would also rather try Terraria first. :)
No, because I don't have Minecraft. Mostly because it's written in fucking Java.
I don't even have Minecraft... (yet). Is it still expensive?

I am in exactly the same boat, including having not gotten around to Terraria yet although I own the game. Presently, I reside in Norrath where I play EverQuest 2 and that is quite the time sink not to mention my visits to Azeroth.

It's $20 give or take a buck. Best $20 I spent last year.

My situation is slightly easier as I do not have Terraria. But I still have a ton of great games I really look forward to try. :D
@OP I would use Technic Pack once I've exhausted all the possibilities in vanilla Minecraft if I were you. Adds a shit ton more of stuff to Minecraft, and the items are very well-balanced. It is a pack of mods that has been compiled to be as conflict-free as possible. Includes mods like Industrialcraft and Computercraft.
I have several homes. One in each of my SP worlds (and I tend to start a new world for every update that affects the terrain generator), and one in each of the two MP worlds hosted by my gaming community. My MP homes tend to be geeky (one is a giant weighted companion cube from Portal, while the other is a huge Commodore logo) and my SP homes are usually more stylish with more thought given to the architecture.
