Bungie told Eurogamer that the Infinity Ward fiasco hadn't made them nervous about partnering with Activision.

"The partnership will encompass one upcoming franchise and will last for the next ten years."
We all know that those ten years will not include an abundance of original games. It means that this franchise will release it's first game soon and we'll see all it's sequels and spin-offs until 2020. I truly despise this crap.

Myth: The rpg
Myth: adventures in the forbidden land
Myth: New War
Myth: Cooking with Dwarves
Only from Activision.
A latest post on Kotaku also states that this next franchise is going to be on "all platforms", which essentially means that the PC will get "custom stuff like mouse control, text chat in game, and graphics settings."

klaymen: In that case the world will see suicides of many Halo 1337 kids.

I'm throwing my support in with Kotick on this one. Obliterate the illiterate brats.

acare84: didn't bethesda start with DLC with their horse armour? i really thought it was the first dlc available.

I'm not sure which game had the first DLC, but I remember that Knights of the Old Republic and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory had DLC and those were released years before Oblivion. However, I think that Bethesda's horse armor marked the beginning of selling stupid items for money that could have been included for free in a content patch.
Gross.
As said, they're not owned by Activision, so they are still much better off than they were under Microsoft.
And as a PC-only gamer, I can't say I care much either way. Halo was okay, nothing special, and Halo 2 sucked. And of course it seems we are never getting the rest.

AndrewC: you're saying that Microsoft is evil because it has exclusive content on its closed platform?

I'm saying Microsoft is evil because they have exclusives on a platform that I don't own! :P
Well, was already stated that they really just have an agreement per IP. Activision might then own the series but not the studio. Should work fine.

Actually it was Sony with Everquest. More than ten years ago.

jungletoad: Kotick has now killed the Tony Hawk series, the Guitar Hero series, and the Call of Duty series. You're next Halo. Kotick is the franchise killer.

He's got nothing on EA. :(

My plan was to send a hypnotizing meme via Live that will make these kids gather at the center of the modern world, line up, and drink special punch. Cult-style justice.

Or they could just play more Halo 3 until they starve. Either way bro.
Can I have a marathon mmo?
