It seems to be related with clitoris mutilation or... maybe with famine?

The first piece I'd go for would be his tongue.

Sweet tasty brain. :)
Quite bizarre ... it's not really a "nice" or "beautiful" work of art, but challenging and thought-provoking. Thanks for the link.

The ruckus about it in the media, culminating in demands that the Swedish minister of culture (who was involved in the ceremony) should step down, is somewhat overblown though.

If you want to hear what the artist has to say about his installation (and the media outrage it's causing), look here: http://stream.aljazeera.com/story/sweden-firestorm-over-cake-art-installation-0022178

i understand that the event was supposed to draw attention to the issue of female circumcision and genital mutilation - an issue that, whatever your view, is one that deserves some respect.

there are many reasons not to like the cake, but what can be said, is that it has distracted attention from what was considered by the event organisers (amongst others) to be an important issue.

that is disappointing
While I don't think this is beautiful art, I do understand where the artist is coming from, and respect him for having the courage to put up something this controversial, and it does seem to be an issue that is important to him.
Absolutely love this!
As for the media ruckus...
Well, even though the cake was female, it definitely sounded male?
Perhaps we can interpret it as advocating male genital mutilation?
I personally wouldn't mind it as a form of birth control to keep the number of aforementioned idiots slightly under control.
Well, I have to be mentally ill then, because I found that video SUPER FUNNY , not disturbing or controversial, even knowing what it is about.
