Sort of an anecdotal thing, more than simply a quote, but one of my favorites:

Calvin Coolidge is known as being a president of few words. Supposedly there was a comedian or radio personality who made a bet during Coolidge's time in office that he could get the president to say three words together to him in answer to a question. This bet ran for many years, until finally, on Coolidge's death bed, he had the man summoned to his side. The man, expecting to finally win his bet, waited eagerly for Mr. Coolidge's final words to him: "You lose."

There are so many great quotes out there, though! How can someone choose just one?
