It looks like you can pick up the Eco Draconis plus expac now (with some bonus goodies) for less than a normal retail title. All reviews are pegging them at 100 total hours of solid gameplay (uhg, like I have time for that), has anyone played this refined version of the original? Is it worthwhile to get into?

It doesn't have to be ME2 quality but if it's completely generic I'll pass.
I really enjoyed the first half of the game and probably spent 30 or so hours in that part. But when it came to one specific fight, it just got so fucking annoying. Without spoiling anything I'll just say the specific fight I am referring to is timed and one mistake can reset the timer.

The Flying Fortresses after that just drained the rest of my will to continue playing. They're long, drawn out, and are all pretty much exactly the same. And for me, just got in the way of the story line. I might eventually try and force myself through them so I can get back to the story.

Of course, your mileage may vary...

Hmm, so this is a maybe. Thanks for the info.

What Bansama's referring to is only the original game content. I agree that the game dragged on at the end and the flying fortresses are repetitive. It's like the devs got hung up on their "awesome" new feature of playing as a dragon and wanted to make sure the player got to experience it.

However, the xp adds better graphics and good content more in line with the quality we get at the start of the game. imo, it turned Divinity 2 from an interesting but flawed game into a very good action-RPG.
The extra content is almost exclusively set in a big city, and it's quite open (it's basically an old-style quest where you need to gather a bunch of (five?) items, in any order you want). I had a lot of fun with it. There's not a lot of dragon content in it.
Immeasurably. The original game was essentially released with a bunch of bugs and an extremely abrupt ending. The expansion/re-release finishes the game and makes it a stable, solid, cohesive whole.

True, but due to it, I've never reached the additional content. And I was playing through the revised version of the original content (ie, DKS build not ED build).

DKS unfortunately doesn't change that part of the game AFAIK. Most of the flying fortresses are optional though. If you really can't bring yourself to get past them you also can just start a game from the xp content IIRC. Of course, you'll miss the ending, but by that point in the game the main story is fairly predictable anyway.
You can skip most of the Flying Fortress parts and just fly towards the island with the portal/door to the boss-fight IIRC, I think I only fully cleared one of them.
The flying fortress did drain me a bit but i did manage to keep going and i did enjoy the game and expansion. Think the expansion did help the game made it a bit more playable in my opinioon i think they rebalanced some areas.

I actually enjoyed Divinity 2 a lot more than dragon Age 2. Also the music in Divinity 2 was fantastic and i love to play games with great music.

That's not saying much...
Well for under 40 bucks I sprung for it. Thanks so much for the feedback, all.
