I did not insult you with a single word, and I specifically did not call you stupid. If you feel stupid when being told Linux isn't for you (and looking how adept, or rather not adept with it you are, t isn't) then that is your problem. Could it be that you just cannot stand the truth and say "Yes ok, apart from the most basic use cases Linux is too complicated for me"? Every one of your posts have made it clear that this is exactly the case; and btw. you are excluding yourself from many of the uses of Linux by that. Heck, you even use Wine on Linux to run a windows version of a program on Linux a native Linux version exists of. You are exactly the kind of computer user Windows or OS X would cater perfectly to with their streamlined user interfaces and simple software installation procedures. All that makes me wonder why you cling to Linux so much.
And no, you haven't insulted "my baby". All you did was to post incompetent nonsense, imvho, and I wonder whether you ever tried to get help with it, giving which I would have no problem.
Now you say you are using Linux for 10 years, from the times when it really was an OS for experts. And you still cannot do what I just described, not even with the help of an extensive online guide (and I tried hard to write a good and complete one for Linux)? C'mon!
How do you think did I learn Linux? Do you think it was easy? It was a pain in the neck. I didn't understand much of it at all in the beginning. But I didn't leave it at that, fearfully avoiding being frustrated more. I kept asking and investigating, trying and failing, and that way I have learned about Linux what I have learned so far - and that actually isn't that much, I am far from being an expert there. I am however far enough though to say that with just a little bit of ambition and perseverance you can learn how to create a few folders, extract a few archive files to it, install a few utilities and execute a few shell commands to install a program like D2X-XL, where you don't get a convenient rpm, deb or other package for; and I am also far enough to say that doing that doesn't require any intimate knowledge or leet haxx0r experience of Linux.
Please just stop this now, because all this doesn't make you look smart at all - and that is entirely not my fault.
If you really want to install D2X-XL on your machine, register on the D2X-XL forum and ask for help with the Linux install there.
