I had given it a try yesterday and they had no keys but it seems they added more according to an update in the original article.

In the game at the steam library say defense grid 2" the word beta doesn't appear. Anyway I'm just downloading the game ^_^

edit- fyi, it says "limited beta" in steam for this key.

I played it for awhile a couple of weeks ago. I got access though supporting their kickstarter. It's worth checking out though there isn't lot of content. The boost platforms are an interesting addition. Other than that it's very similar, and seems to be coming along just fine. Got me started playing the first game again, so definitely looking forward to the full game.
