Remember that old game? Death rally! I WANT IT!
Hell yeah!
I remember playing it all the time at school when I was like 8 or 9 years old.
We kept getting in trouble, and it was soooooooo worth it!
Yes! Death Rally was such an awesome game! I've played the shit out of that game so many times. Runs well under DOSBox too.
It was published by Apogee/3DRealms, so they might be interested in reviving it with GOG.com. I would SO buy it!
I remember when I played the demo. I remember I played the demo a lot, enough that I had some stupidly high cash$ amount.
This was like a fast paced violent Micro-Machines game, and a good amount of fun for it's time.
Any racing game that involves machine guns and mines is a good amount of fun. Super Cars II, anyone? :-D
Haha yes!
Or Rock'n'Roll Racing on the SNES!
I would buy Death Rally if it was here.
I loved that game, way way before Remedy broke through with their awesome Max Payne : ).
Vaguely remembered the demo way back when I bought my first PC. Good fun from what little I remember of it.
But I still want Carmageddon. Never played it and I don't know if it's physics model will hold up to today's standards, but the premise sounds just so damned fun.
Hell yeah, Carmageddon is awesome. I played a lot lot lot of the fist game, with Offspring's Americana playing in winamp in the background...ah, those were the days :).I played little Carmageddon 2, it had insanely good physics destruction model from what I remember...I think it was even better than, for example,GRID. You could literally cut your car in half : ).
death rally is still on sale for $10 on 3drealms' yahoo store. they still sell many of their old games, too - duke nukem, commander keen, blake stone, rise of the triad, terminal velocity and wacky wheels amongst others.
Does anyone know of any newer PC racing games with weapons? All this talk of Death Rally brings back the old itch in my trigger finger :-D
Hmmm, Apogée games yummy :D.
