I've been replaying Dark Forces lately, and have gotten to the detention level, and then I found this:

http://xlengine.com/downloads/

Enhanced engine for Dark Forces and Daggerfall. You can now play in wide-screen, hi-res, with mouselook. The only thing is, the guns and character models look blurry, and I've heard there are some issues with it (it crashed on me after beating the first level, fortunately, the level still counted as cleared for the "save"). Worth a look, if you have Dark Forces and are fancying a re-play.
It's nowhere near finished, last I checked, but the XL engine is a pretty well known project and pretty awesome. Supposedly Daggerfall is nearing beta release.

I think Dark Forces is able to be completed, with issues.

I await the DaggerXL eagerly so I don't have to put a DOS command line everytime I play.

You know you can set up games in DOSBox to run from a shortcut just like GOG does right? And if that's beyond you you can always use something like D-Fend.
You definitely don't have to put in the DOS commands every time you play.

EDIT: PM me if you have questions, don't want to derail the thread any more than I already have.

OR, there's an even simpler way than the one SirPrimalform suggested - Just drag the .exe of the game over the DOSBOX shortcut on your desktop, then release it, and the game will start automatically in DOSBOX.
