So on the site it says that you can upload your own game if you have one. I am wondering what the requirements are.
I mean.. I know GOG stands for GOOD old games, but do they really have to be like Doom or something?
I am thinking about making a game with a friend of mine, and wouldn't mind putting it here as we are not professional game makers.
Or is this option only for professional developers?
Sorry if asking this made me look stupid, just wanted to find out.
Hi xtaz,
Do you plan on making an OLD game?
Because Good Old Games not only stands for GOOD old games, but also for good OLD games (and also good old GAMES) ;)
So I think that this thing about uploading games is specifically made for publishers with older games in their backcatalogue.
Hmm yeah, now that you mention it.
I will see how it goes, but I'll probably won't be able to make a GOOD, OLD, GAME then after all.
Hi Xtaz,
Basicly we cover Good Old Games. But I believe that there are places in the net where you can upload indy games and sell it for a small money (at least I read about one site like this in UK).
We already discussed the topic of Indy games in the team. And we'd love to also support indy games creators. But this needs to be done properly, and not exactly in the current formula of GOG... Anyway, I believe, that some day we will come back to this topic. Indy games can be great antidotum for supercommercialmassivebudgetproductions:) ..but will it be earlier than you'll finish making your game, I don't know;)

IF indy games should be sold then they have to have some sort of requrement. like all old games they have to look old.
a game like audiosurf (not saying its bad) could not be sold on GOG. it might be indy. but it dosnt really look "old" to be sold on a place that deals with old games

If GOG succeeds like we hope it will, maybe the team can create a sister project: Old Skool Games. I could see the commercials now: "Remember when games were labors of love as opposed to multi-million dollar projects? We do."

Nice slogan :-)
I think that many of us do remember those times :-)
