wpegg: I genuinely feel both saddened and annoyed by the thread. It saddens me to see this forum descend to such a crude and uninventive level. It saddens me that the people posting the message are, as I said, simply testing the bounds of what they can do, and I know that if I don't act they will just push further (that's what kids do). It annoys me that the thread has continued so long, and that it is just there to upset people.

So I feel I should act, not on behalf of the community (as it was the community that started the thread), but for the community. From that perspective it is quite selfish, I am acting to stop things getting worse.

Incidentally, acting simply involved sending a message to GOG, to make sure they couldn't deny knowledge of this thread. They already know it's here.
Why does it sadden and annoy you so much when people act immature, specifically on GOG? Is it that worth getting upset over(compared to other bad things posted here or stuff posted online, or things that happen irl.) to begin with?

Also(imo)overall the forum is civil and quite well off......it doesn't seem to have descended to an overall state of crudeness to me yet. Just saying. Why does it seem that way to you from one(or a few thread(s)?

Also I don't believe people are posting to test the limits of the forum. Why do people always assume that?(With both some of my older threads and some of other people's threads) that that is people's intention? Why can't people just be posting for the sake of posting as they will for whatever other reason(good or bad)?

Also sometimes people NEED to be upset(like during an intervention or similar) IMHO........it depends on if the person doing the upsetting is doing it for good or bad though. If done for good then I approve, if not then I disapprove. Also sometimes people other than the target audience will be upset as well....this, sadly, will happen with a public forum. It isn't always a person's intent to upset others than the ones intended....it just sometimes happens.
I said you could have a sip Son not the whole frakkin' bottle!
Well, I have no idea what GameRager is talking about. This thread really has no place on these forums and is pretty much only here to make a point that the GOG forums require moderation. If you actually think this thread should be here GameRager, then the point of the thread has flown way over your head.

You articulated that well but it doesn't change the fact that it's utter tosh.

I've seen enough of the OPs other posts to realise he's just having a laugh here but nobody can deny that the title of this thread pushes the limits. In fact you'd be pushed to find any other respectable forum on the internet that wouldn't issue an instant ban for something like that.

1. You sure? Or are you just faking it to strengthen your points?

2. That's your opinion, not everyone's. Also stop being so damn condescending and acting like you know everything that OP meant.

3. I never said it should be here or not, just that sometimes people upset people(via forum posts/etc, irl and online) and that sometimes it's good/ok if done for the right reasons(Of course obviously it's better to be as civil as possible to get the best results).

Oh thank you for that insightful piece of information, Gillian McKeith.

It's utter tosh for who's posts? OPs or everyone else's? (I was talking above, btw, about the other people's replies for the most part as not always posting to push the limits of the forum.) If you're talking about everyone else's relies being made to mostly or wholly push the limits of the forum then where's your proof?

Also an aside but the not on my lawn bias here(just an aside tidbit I noticed) and on some other forums irks me to no end. I notice that on some forums how people will not tolerate some behavior on their home/primary forum yet tolerate/encourage/contribute to such elsewhere, as if on their home forum it's a major crime or offense/slap in the face to them and others, yet elsewhere it's ok, or not such a big deal. The hypocrisy is laughable at best.

irawesome: One question, why is this thread called "CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT CUNT"?
My question is why not?

/silly mode off

In all seriousness I wonder why it bothers people so much? (Not why it bothers them at all, but why to such a degree.) If I see something I dislike I ignore it and move on, or try to write as civil a reply as possible(even if the thread or post irks me so that I want to not be civil).
