bevinator: The worst thing about this idea is that every time a user scams someone, they get more rep. Which of course makes it worse than useless for determining trustworthiness in giveaways etc.
I think it would be only if they buy a game on GOG that goes into their account.

That said, I don't think the idea needs to be implemented as rep is not crucial to anything beyond some forum uses like gifting and trading.

As crazy_dave said, it would only be for cash purchases.

tinyE: ... but it is a little strange; I get a pat on the back in here for doing things that have gotten me kicked out of other forums. :P
This made me smile.

(Sorry off topic)
There isn't really a need to modify the rep system in order to add an optional system that shows how many games someone has purchased for their account.

Beach Bunny of the Week forum backdrop image.

ah crap, I just opened the Can O Shit...here come the ads.

EDIT: Sorry....I just (for the first time ever in a forum) read the OP.

Rep system should only go one way ---> Up.

For every three clever comments someone makes, they go up one rep point.

In the instance someone is so dogged as to keep tagging themselves with three sock puppets, I'd show much sympathy and not give them a hard time about their rep at all.

I've been here pretty much since the beginning and it seems like only lately people have started caring about rep. I guess because of the trading and whatnot. In any case, just stop caring about it, post your thoughts politely, and it will be fine.
^ We agree ;-)
Nevermind... I need to follow my own rule of saying nothing if I don't have something nice to say.

Do we feel superior to the lower rep peons? Yes, yes we do, ho ho ho <monocle>

Carry on.
I dont care too much about my Rep
but im not very active either.

I only post in trheads where i have something worthwile to say from my point of weiv of course or if i can get the kicks out of posting something funny.

I try to not post just for the sake of posting but yea its sure is nice to have some degree of rep
then you at least know that something of the stuff you had said is worthwile for other people to give you rep for.

Edit :
I dont think a single one of my posts have been high rated.
Perhaps i shoud try to buy rep, it seams to work in the giveaways other people do :P

If you do giveaways for the rep, you're really bad at business :p

Like I said earlier, its great but it is strange. I have had one really high rated post in here and it was the one post I started out with specifically asking for NO REP. Hanging out in here has reaffirmed what I learned after I left the midwest: you will be much more liked if you just try to be yourself rather than just trying to be liked.

MMM, YEEEES... *sips tea*
One thing that hit me though.
When are people not considered as bots or scammers or even trolls if we use the rep measurment?

About 100 rep or so. That's three month worth of lurking and behaving. Ain't nobody got time fo' that.

The best proof is usually the date you registered, so don't worry about that ;)
