Hello... until the most recent update to my GoG downloader I've never had any problems.

This error keeps popping up after some time passes by, and I'm not sure why or what it means:

Microsoft .Net Framework

Unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. If you click continue, the app will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

To everyone who had problems logging in. There were some API problems and our IT guys have fixed this. Everything should be back to normal. Sorry for the inconveniences. Also the updated version (which will be released soon) will be presenting some messages in the status bar when connection problems occur, so everything should be handled appropriately.

I don't have any problems logging in, nor actually using the downloader... these errors just keep popping up and I have no idea why or what is being affected.

Thanks very much for the response, though!
the problem was not related to logging in (at least in my case). I was able to login just fine and start the download, but the error cropped up near the end of the download for assassin's creed. The previous download for Heroes of Might and Magic V went without any problems.

I was able to download the game the next day after I completely canceled the download, but it was still weird to get.

Where you able to play Assassins Creed or did you have to start over?

I'm not sure what you mean, but, once I got the game downloaded finally, I was able to install AC ok. I didn't play it in-depth quite yet because I'm on another game right now and I was only downloading it for offline backup anyway until I got around to playing it.

When downloading the game, I did start the download all over again by actually removing the game from the queue and to be safe removed the current install files from my computer. I'm not quite sure what specifically I did to finally get the download to work beyond stopping it completely and running it again the next day.

I suspect that the downloader is slightly on the temperamental side. I've had a few other issues with this version, but still better than the old one.

This isn't a solution, I still get the .NET error every 15 minutes with the new downloader, and have for the past 2 weeks.
I keep getting the same exception over and over again, and I think it corrupts the download (can't say for sure yet).

I've been trying to download The Witcher 2:EE for like the past 4 days. It took me about 3 days to download the entire 15GB of the game, during which, I got plenty of these exceptions. At the end of the download, the GOG downloader just failed saying that the download was corrupted. I tried restarting the downloader, and tried to re-add the game for download hoping that the downloader would redownload only the missing files, but no such luck. I had to discard the entire download, and start all over again.

I've been getting the same exceptions this time too, so, I don't really know if the download will go through this time either. If you have a fix for this, could you please push it out already? I can't really afford to download 15GB a third time.

Also, in general, could you please enhance the downloader so that it fixes corrupt downloads by redownloading only the corrupted parts? It's not that hard to do. It's really not easy waiting for a game to download for over a day, only to have to restart it at the end of it due to a few corrupt files.

When a download is added to the downloader, the first phase it goes through is the "Preparing". During that stage, it checks the directory it will download to for files with the same name as the one to download, and if any such files exist, it does an integrity check (MD5? SHA1? CRC?). If the file passes inspection, it will not redownload it, if it doesn't, it will redownload. Thus what you are asking for already exists.
Oh, that's weird, because it didn't work for me.

As I mentioned earlier, the first time around, the downloader finished downloading the entire The Witcher 2:EE game files, but failed at the end saying that the download was corrupted (can't remember the exact error message). I looked at the download location (Documents\GOG.com Downloads\the_witcher_2), and it had a bunch of 50MB files, totaling to about 14GB or so (again, can't remember the exact size). So, I quit the downloader assuming that it'd resume downloading/fix the existing download the next time.

When I started the downloader again, it didn't have the game in it's list, so, I had to go to my GOG games page and add the game for download again. After that, the downloader was stuck at "Preparing". It didn't do anything else for quite some time, after which I tried restarting it and adding the game for download again. That didn't work either. It was still stuck at "Preparing".

So, I assumed that it couldn't repair the download, and restarted the download after deleting the existing files.

If the "Preparing" stage was in fact fixing my download, could you please improve the UI feedback? Though, I doubt if it really was working, since I waited for well over 40 minutes (close to an hour maybe) before quitting the downloader.
I'm still experiencing the same behavior as OP, no problems logging in, but after some amount of time sitting in the tray, I get https://imgur.com/jDcSG http://pastebin.com/56TB1fqw popping up.

This has been resolved and will be pushed with upcoming update.
Also we are experiencing API problems at the moment, so logging / downloading problems may occur.
