damien: i dont know if i just got lucky, or if i just got older, but i dont know any people like that.
.

You should try visiting some of the more console-centric websites like Teamxbox, for example.
Heck, I've seen comments, but a few hours ago, on a news post about the soon-to-be-released GTA4 on PC, where people have posted that this should only be played on a console. A ridiculous thing to post, but there you go.
There are a lot of these people who also believe that gaming should also be done on a couch, sat infront of a big TV. Again, utter nonsense. I'll play on the bog, on my DS playing Sega Darts, or Touchmaster, if needed.

the first thing i tried, before watching a film or cable or anything, once i bought a big screen HDTV was to plug it into my pc so i could see if the user interface font on eve-online was easier to read on the telly than it is on my monitors.
(it wasn't, really...)
other than that, i notice i tend to fall asleep on my couch.
to my couch's credit: one of the things i love about console gaming on a big telly is the environment that you get with a few mates over to play with you. i've done the lan-party thing years ago and it never compared to three or four guys sitting around on a couch laughing and mocking each other over a game.
PC Gaming will always have better graphics than that of consoles.
Consoles will always have the advantage of exclusives that PCs will never have (but I guess through the power of emulation they will eventually).
Does that mean PCs win? ;)
I think alot of PC gamers tend to dislike console gamers because the consoles are ruining gaming for the PC. Developers see alot of money in consoles so they make games for them, then they either port the game to PC as an after thought (although bioware have been excellent with their ports with the PC versions being alot better than the console versions) or they don't port at all, normally giving crap about piracy would make the game not sell (although it's thanks to stuff like that, that GOG can exist, bringing us games from a time when PC games were worth buying.
Another reason why consoles are seen as inferior is the lack of moddability, you buy a game and thats it, screw you if you want something more or maybe a TC.

Only if you can get a rumble controller to play them.
There IS something to be said for playing a game on a console, it tends to run well with the hardware and it's a lot easier to run (no configuration other than button mapping).
Conversly, multiplayer games will be better (to me) on PC; quicker and faster support, quicker content and usually stronger content (valve's TF2 packs quickly come to mind.)
First of all the saddest thing is that there aren't many people who understands this title "console gamer" truly ;p Most people takes it wrong ;p

that's why i asked about it, tho.
what do you mean when you say or hear "console gamer"?
I've always played on my PC more than any other platform. The ratio would be about 9:1.
That said, I love consoles. Love them! They're a brilliant idea and they do an excellent job.
In fact if I had to pick one complain about the current PC/console relationship it would be that consoles aren't consoley enough. Patches? Overpriced bonus content? Shuffling games around a tiny, overpriced hard drive? I got bored of this stuff 8 years ago. Please go back to just playing games, you're losing your identity.
You can argue console vs. PC until the cows come home, and they never will. Might as well quit while ahead guys.

i dont see a single reply that has anything to do with that argument, tho.
i just asked a question, yo.

We must be reading different forums in parallel universes.
People just love to fight and argue over the internet. I mean, the kind of people that argues about things like that is the kind of gamer that gives us all a bad name.
I've been in forums where every thread would be full of things like "HA, TAKE THAT, SONY FANBOYS! SUCK IT!" after a game selling well on the XBOX 360, or saying bad names to people who play the Wii, and all that nonsense.
It's just so stupid. I mean, it's like they don't have a life and need the internet to satisfy their egos and to have someone to "hear" them. Like those bullies at high school, except I've seen people in their mid-20s, early-30s do that kind of thing. I mean... it's just sad.
A good game is a good game. It doesn't matter if I'm playing it on a PC, on a handheld, on a console, or just roleplaying with my friends or playing cards.
If I ever say something like "console gamer", it would be to state that I play on consoles for the most part, and stuff like that. And that's it.
I'm a gamer, and I'm tired of people who need to label everything so they can argue about it. Really.
The one way to solve this entire console debate (in a Utopian world anyway) is to make just one console. No PS4, no Xbox 720, no Nintendo Woo, just one console. Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo can then concentrate on focusing all their resources on the software market (each major publisher has their own major franchises). What this will then do is cut down on losses made from developing hardware and it makes it easier for consumers to buy just one console that can play everything (multi-platform seems to be the big thing nowadays).
One can only dream...
There are so, so many "xxx vs. xxx" videos on Youtube about this subject. It's madness.
and now I'm part of the problem
Console wars in the pre-internet days were much more fun, because they were just plain silly and everyone knew it. No rage involved, just crude drawings of Mario shooting Sonic in the head. Nice clean fun.

I just say I'm a console gamer because I focus primarily on console games.
