Let me check the ever reliable wikipedia...
"Leagues are completely customizable: there are 25 elements can be edited by the user, such as teams, races, players, and championship rules. Players may also set up online tournaments with others in the online community, which also allows players to gain experience as with the single player mode. Tournaments may have a minimum of four participants, and a maximum of 24; none of the teams may be AI-controlled"
Apparently, yes.
i got it for PC and it's really fantastic, there are a few bugged skills but nothing gamebreaking and most stuff is fixed/getting fixed anyway.
the best thing was that they realeased the Dark elves yesterday.
They'd better release undead and halfling relatively soon, they're my 2 specialty teams.
In tabletop, my undead and halfling teams were the undisputed champions, in 4 long tournaments, they only lost 1 game between them and that was a lame coin flip decision that one tourney used as a way of coping with players who didn't show. I had some genuine freaks in those teams, a halfling with a strength of 4 and a mummy with a strength of 7 and agility of 3, an unstoppable if rather slow blitzer

The word is that it's pretty cool (it sure looks it) with a few slight flaws.
If i were you i'd hope they don't release it on consoles until they get the AI and Singleplayer sorted out a little... cos right now it sounds a bit like you need the modding scene to balance and sort out the SP.
I have heard that the AI is a bit on the crap side but board games against the computer are no fun anyway. Its only a true victory if you manage to injure or kill 95% of the opponent's team in the first half and the second half is your team vs one terrified gobbo. You just can't get the same level of satisfaction with a victory like that over a computer
Ahh awesome, tournaments are really fun in the Dos Bloodbowl. Get to know the strengths and weaknesses of your players and you really care if one of them gets squashed.
Have they annouced if they are going to add any of the other races in with expansions?
I also never got to play the board game more then a couple times with a few people, never a tournament or anything, though I imagine that would have been fun.

Aliasalpha: xbox360achievements have the list of achievements for Blood Bowl and they pretty much only ever get them 2-3 weeks ahead of release. It might ACTUALLY be out this year! it was beginning to smell a bit duke nukem forever there for a while

who cares, it's been available for PC for sometime now.

anom: who cares, it's been available for PC for sometime now.

People without a gaming capable PC perhaps? People with friends who'll only be able to play it on console and who wish to join in? People who aren't pc elitist twats and who think games coming out on more than one platform is a GOOD thing?
Just a few suggestions...
Given the way GW currently rampages through the internet ... I am not really willing to touch anything associated with them for a good while.
See:
FUMBBL which has done online bloodbowl so much better then Cyanide and has been around for close to a decade now. Some of the legendary teams of FUMBBL actually appear in the current BloodBowl rules, so it's not like GW didn't know.

and many more that have been around for years and years with GW being perfectly aware of them..
What takes the cake is that
Games Workshop is concerned about the number of fantasy football miniature companies now showing up in the world. GW has also noted that several of the Star Players do not have official figures. They have agreed to allow them in at this time ... however over the coming weeks (perhaps months) they do NOT want to see discussions (or worse released figures) from other miniatures companies about creating figures to fill in for missing star players. Miniatures released by any company should not be marketed online as being a great figure for such and such BB Star Players.
It was made VERY clear today that if GW sees such marketing happening ... they will pull the LRB 6.0 (or modify it before it is officially posted) and remove all star players from the document that do not have an official BB figure effectively deleting the rules for that player from the game (and since LRB 6.0 will be the offical rules for many years to come ... this will be a serious deletion). So not only would this erase all the LRB 6.0 stars added to balance out the game and team's inducements. But many LRB 5.0 stars (Ramtut, Zara, Hemlock, Helmet, Ugroth, Spleenripper, etc. etc) would be deleted from the rulebook as well.

Galak is one of the people that worked (unpaid & voluntary) on both the official (i.e. oked by GW) BloodBowl LRB 5 and LRB 6 ruleset. GW hasn't done anything with BloodBowl itself in years, doesn't actively promote it/sell or produce minatures for the recent changes and additions ... and now basically attempts anyone else from filling the gap.
GW is in the right, of course, legally, but sheesh. Way to create publicity and goodwill for their company.

Just saw on gamefaqs, Bloodbowl has a release date of 1/12/10 for the xbox 360.

Wrong GW still holds actual BB tournaments. They actively encourage players to convert their own star player models and they even enter scratch build models into Golden Demon. What GW is saying here is that they don't want other companies making minatures for their game which is fair enough.
Yes GW have an extremely draconian policy when it comes to IP protection but then can you blame them? If the movie Inquisitor was officially released that small company would effectively own the Warhammer 40,000 IP according to German law. Blizzard the company that a lot of PC owners worship actively screwed GW completely with Starcraft. So while I don't exactly condone GW's attitude I can understand it.

Cethlion: Hope they release a disc and not a download like the pc version. My hard drive is getting full.

here in the UK theres a retail disc version you can buy, not sure about its availability elsewhere in the world.
One more thing, anybody tell me if its any good? How does it compare too Chaos League: Sudden Death?
