Next week we'll be releasing the “Best Roleplaying Game of 2004” and another part of the critically acclaimed series of turn-based strategies.
Sacred Gold is one of the best representative of the hack and slash RPG genre. As one of 8 heroic characters you'll have to fight your way through the epic world of Ancaria. But if fantasy worlds and hack and slash is not enough for you, Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games will test your tactical skills. New missions, more characters, new game modes and more weapons – that's what you'll find in this turn-based combat strategy game.
All I have to say is "That's one ugly-ass elf!".
I had never heard of Sacred Gold before.. surprising too considering I was a huge diablo player back in the day. I really need to finish up Fallout 2 so I can buy this one!
Sweet. Looking forward to Sacred Gold. Hopefully I will be done with Fallout 3 before then!
Sacred Gold was good , sacred 2 is crap! ;)
I guess the question is whether or not you'll be handing out multiplayer keys along with the game. The SP game is awesome anyway, but it's fun online, too in the same way that Diablo is.

Wait, I thought Sacred 2 doesn't even come out in Europe until tomorrow. Is it really that bad? I was looking forward to it...

Can't really say if the game is good or bad as I do not have it. However, it does come with the most restrictive DRM yet.

Wait, wait, I thought Ascaron was loved for being NOT evil.
They have the DRM, yeah, but unlike some companies we could mention they have not one but multiple ways to revoke an activation, allow unlimited installs, and have actually put out a promise in writing that the online activation will be patched out should their activation servers shut down for good. That seems as close as we can get to essentially owning our game without stepping into Stardock/GoG territory.
Not ideal, but I'd put that near the "good" end of the evil spectrum.
PS - or have my standards simply been ruined these past few years?

Well.. I think we're all a bit jaded by what we've gone through the past few years. So to have a system such as this and think of it in terms of "good" is a sure sign of that. Sacred 2 was up for torrent before it was even released in Europe, so the DRM once again fails.
I'm planning on getting Sacred 2 because I promised to play an online game with some friends, and it's the only one most people can agree on.
The only plus is, as you've said, there are several ways to revoke your activation "token" so you can resell the game, etc if you want.
Waiting for next paycheck to get Sacred Gold. Hope it coincides perfectly!
