Clive Barker's Undying, a captivating horror FPS with a dark arcane story penned by one of the masters of terror, is available 60% off today, on GOG.com. That's only $2.39 for the next 24 hours!

There's an ancient realm hidden away from human sight behind the thin veil of what we call reality, and Clive Barker is its dedicated annalist. The outer dimension is much bigger than our own, filled with dark energies and entities, pushing against the curtain, looking for a way in. Sometimes, the veil gives way under the pressure, but it rarely does so without help from our side. Every now and then a human, insane or ignorant enough, will use some strange artifact, carve ancient runes in a doorway, or utter the blasphemous words of a forbidden ritual that was hidden away for ages in some dusty old book. That's how they get through to our side, and they did so from the beginning of time. It's people like Mr. Barker who keep track of the breaches, record the events, and try to bring the truth out in the daylight. In books, movies, graphic novels--the gospel of darkness spreads. This game, just as well, is more than just a work of fiction. It's a warning.

Clive Barker's Undying, delivers one of the most wicked tales of occult terror right onto our computer screens, in the form of a story-driven first-person shooter. With a gallery of memorable characters and locations that will make chill run down your spine, it remains one of the most gripping horror games ever created. The old mansion that you'll be exploring for the better part of the game, is one of the most iconic places in the memories of many gamers, and its ghastly inhabitants surely still haunt their dreams. If you haven't yet experienced this terrifying gem of an FPS, be sure to grab it today.

Never ignore the unseen horror lurking behind the curtain separating us from insanity. Learn as much as you can about the other side in Clive Barker's Undying, for only $2.39 today, on GOG.com! The offer lasts until Tuesday, July 16, at 9:59AM GMT.

trusteft: Amnesia puts you in a situation where you can't fight back. That I don't enjoy at all in a game. It's frustration, not fear.

F4LL0UT: You can't feel fear if you can fight back. Also, handicaps of sorts and things that would just be annoying in a non-horror game are what has made many horror classics far more terrifying than most modern horror games. :P

Also: holy sh... I almost missed this deal. Also I thought that I had already grabbed this game during some promo. I was wrong. O_O
You can feel fear just fine when you can fight back it's all about the balance.

Amnesia is not scary to me, just frustrating. I'm sorry you don't like it, but that's how it is for me.

It's not much different than playing a stealth game without killing (which I love to do), so that didn't bother me.

But if that's not your cup of tea, well, it's no skin off my back. To each his or her own.

...and this whole conversation reminds me to see if Among the Sleep is on the wishlist yet and to vote for it or add it as necessary.
If there is one scary game I would like to see here, is the original Test Drive.

Driving on a road few inches from the cliff, at 120mph, at 2 frames per second then as you barely take a turn you see a SUV (more like a van) with a family and their faces heading towards you, giving you at best 4 frames to avoid them, you head straight on, you can see the horror in their eyes......chilling.
