Waking Mars for only $1.99 + Tex Murphy Series, Simon the Sorcerer, and many more 70% off!

Waking Mars, an exploration-focused platformer in which you discover and tend to a robust ecosystem in Martian underground caves, celebrates its second anniversary. To cellebrate it, the game (which comes with the addition of full soundtrack) is available 80% off. That's only $1.99 for the entire week. It’s creators, a small indie team working under the label Tiger Style, were kind enough to answer a few of our questions about inspirations, game design, and the transition from AAA development into core indie scene. You can read the interview in GOG.com Blog.

Now, let's move on to our [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/classic_adventures_weekend_promo_280214]Classic Adventure Cruise Weekend Promo with landmark adventure games available whole 70% off. You can stay in the Martian landscape for a little bit longer with Tex Murphy, the fedora-and-trenchcoat PI of the grim future. All of the classic adventure games with that fan-favorite character are available for $2.99 each, except for the first two bundled together for just $1.79. Or, if you prefer fantasy and comedy to Sci-Fi gloom and doom, you can't go wrong with Simon the Sorcerer, Simon the Sorcerer 2, and Simon the Sorcerer 3D This cherished series of adventure classics is known for its tongue-in-cheek humor, devious puzzles, and countless allusions to popular fantasy books, games, and movies. While the first two games use hand-crafted pixel-art graphics and a traditional point-and-click interface with clickable on-screen commands, the third one takes Simon’s misadventures into a 3D environment while retaining all (well, ok: most) of its predecessors’ charm. Put yourself in the pointy shoes of a young apprentice of wizardry for 70% off, this weekend only on GOG.com

That's just a small sample of the adventure lineup in Classic Adventure Cruise Weekend Promo, so make sure you visit the promo page and see what other gems can you get 70% off. The offer lasts until Tuesday, March 4, at 4:59AM GMT. The Waking Mars anniversary special lasts until Friday, March 7, at 10:59AM GMT.
Great promo for me! I will be getting some games that have been on my wishlist for some time; Tex Murphy and Broken Sword 4. Thanks GOG!
I'm interest in either Broken Sword 3 or Still Life, which one to get?

Seeing a lot of conflicting reviews on these, any thoughts or recommendations much appreciated.

Drerhu: People complain a lot of about Atlantis 1...but for me, back in 1998 was a good experience : )
So I did purchased it :-)

How are the Broken Sword and Atlantis series?

Niggles: How are the Broken Sword and Atlantis series?
Broken Sword 1 and 2 - good hand-drawn adventures from the classic era, 3 and 4 - rather failed experiments with 3D and stealth.
Atlantis - a bit Myst-like. If you like the subgenre, go for them.

Still Life by all means!
Broken Sword 3 is probably the worst that the series has to offer.

Finally decided to pick up BS 1-4 here. Looking forward to going through the the first three again with part four being completely new to me.

I actually quite enjoyed it when I played it a good few years ago. So sue me! =P

Waking mars looks nice and 2 $.
I'm thinking of getting Simon the Sorcerer 3D. Yes, it's a terribly written, terribly coded mess with an atrocious art style, unlikable characters and no redeeming qualities what-so-ever... but I bought Ultima 9 to finish that collection, so I have no right to turn this one down on poor quality.

I liked the plot and ended up reading a lot about the real Voynich Manuscript... My problem with Broken Sword 3 is the gameplay which I didn't like that much.

Thanks for your input Novotnus, I just added Still Life to my collection.

Will hold off on Broken Sword 3 unless someone here can convince me to give it a go. I'm a bit hesitant on all 3D adventures ever since Grim Fandango which I loved except for the awful 3D controls that almost ruined the experience.

If you didn't like Grim Fandango controls, well, I don't thikn anybody can convince you to enjoy Broken Sword 3...

What about Broken Sword 4?... Would I be missing anything if I just got only the first two games in the series?

4 mixes classic point and click with some things introduced in 3. If you like your adventures served in the classic way, get 1 and 2. If you don't mind someone experimenting with the genre - you can try 3 and 4 (with 4 being closer to the roots of the series).

Well, I’m learning to like Adventure games, where the story is good and the puzzles are logical, and not an ordeal of experimentation... probably will get 1, 2, and possibly 3, perhaps another sale for BS 4.

If you can enjoy 3, you'll like 4 too :)
