Looks like they're finally making good on that Time Machine promise we saw during the Time Machine promo :D

(that was last year, right?)
Are they setting people up for disappointment with the whole GALAXY of opportunities thing?
What are you doing to me, GOG & CD Projekt? Is this what a heart attack feels like?
I don't see any reason to anticipate any new publishers or special games coming (beyond W3, obviously). The GOG related announcement probably revolves around an update to the downloader and maybe some more "social" integration. I'm sure some people will really enjoy those things. Unfortunately, I really won't be one of them, but I hope all you other guys enjoy whatever it is.

Hehe, GOG has done a really good job through the years in training me not to get overexcited (or excited at all) about pre-announcements of announcements of announcements. ;)
That should be interesting! Will definitely try to watch! ;-)

Elinnea: From the blog:

"After the live-streamed Witcher-fest, stay tuned for one more sensational message from GOG.com itself. We’ve got something new and absolutely game-changing coming to our service later this year and we would like to show you what is it going to be all about. There’s a whole new galaxy of possibilities coming towards you, dear GOGgers, and we’ll be giving you more than just a sneak-peek during our RED/GOG June 5 livestream!"

So GOG.com has finally invented the warp drive! Woo hoo!
Oh boy, am I the only one already dreading the disappointment and whining that may follow the live stream? I still remember that thread of two years ago when GOG announced indie games and the change in its name. ;-P

* keeping my fingers crossed that GOG delivers big*
high rated
I don't care about any new projects or The Witcher 3 . All i would like to see :

- Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom
- more old games from the Activision , Ubisoft and EA catalogues
- new major publishers with their old games

Vainamoinen: For the love of all that is sacred in PC gaming please don't let the announcement be Early Access. :(

G-Doc: You mean our announcement? It's not. I promise. You can relax :-)
awwww come on.some of us actually want early access type thing on GOG :/

any idea if there will be Gog only exclusives coming with Tw3 pretty orders?
Bring Mechwarrior 2 and Vampire: Bloodlines here already! :P
I think the best thing they could announce would be a multiplayer API. Not only would that enhance a lot of the games that GOG sells on its service, but it would also open the doors to developers/publishers that were put off by the lack of such functionality (Paradox and Egosoft come to mind). Plus, if GOG really wants to do an Early Access type program, they pretty much require such an API as well as a better updating system. In other words, such a move would indeed open a whole galaxy of possibilities for both GOG and us, the customers.

Alas, I get the feeling that it won't be that. In fact, it might not necessarily be something we don't know about. It could just be the official start of Linux support.

IAmSinistar: Most of the "what will the surprise be" guesses emanate from the poster's personal wish (or fear). So let me continue that pattern and say the announcement will be a GOG/Cloanto deal to bring Amiga games to GOG.
Amiga games would be great, as would arcade games through mame (maybe get Sinistar on here, lol, it wasn't on the Amiga, but there was a clone called Xenostar). No need for a deal with Cloanto, though, since UAE is free - the games, kickstarts roms (Workbench in some cases), etc aren't. They'd be doing basically the same thing as they do with DOSBox - set up the emulator to work correctly with the game and everything's good (including running on Linux).

Ah, well, we can dream...
So.............it´s GEE OHH GEE?! :D

l0rdtr3k: NEW PUBLISHER!!!!
A brand new feature: DRM!
I would totally watch if I wasn't on my crunch time. Someone will write minutes or notes or something I hope? =D
I want to be positive but considering the announcements of the past, I am worried.

"Good news everybody, you've got AIDS !"
I am sick of hearing about this game. I've already been convinced of its coolness, and want to play it already.

But yes, it's a huge project so I'd rather they take time to work on it than rush it. In the meantime, I am tuning out the news, though.
