Overall I wouldn't mind a Console port at all, of course the main platform for them is the PC but I don't see a problem here

No the console port was mentioned months ago, this is just confirmation.

One problem might be (from a PC user's point of view) that if the game does well on the consoles, the next one may be a port TO the PC FROM the consoles.

But that kind of risk is right in line with the worry that it does so poorly on the PC there is not a next time at all.

You can hardly blame companies for making games for the people who buy them. The key for me is to remember your roots and still make a good PC version, no matter the lead platform. Some old PC devs do this and some do not, I would hope CDP would.

I don't blame them. I simply tried to give a valid reason for why some people might be worried about a console port.
