Is there any way to retrieve a lost cd key? I have the dvd version of Sniper Elite,but I lost my damn cd key. Is there any way to legally retrieve a cd key?

Like from a manual? Nah. I mean maybe send pictures to the publisher but for an old game who knows if they would care or even have any.

The only reason I need it is to install the stupid thing. I love the game, but I would hate to have to repurchase the game just because I can't find the key.

Definitely a downside to boxed copies. It happened to me with an old Medal of Honor and I googled for a new key. Took me to some dark places on the internet and wouldn't have worked for multiplayer, but it installed the game and allowed me to play singlplayer.

Check in the Registry if you've installed it previously.

This. As long as you've installed the game before on that computer, you ought to be able to retrieve your CD Key from there.

Unless the game removes its Registry keys when its being uninstalled.

Otherwise you can always write the publisher with a proof of purchase. But the costs associated are probably higher than the cost of the game here.

Sniper Elite still has playable multiplayer with few active players, and it's moderately fun :P

You can try to write to the game creators. Maybe they will just give you the key just like that :P

He can use a pirated key, thus pirate it. ... whatever, you know what I meant. :p
