Too bad The Sopranos is a popular show here... Why can't everyone only enjoy watching the TV shows, I hate here? I'd save so much money. :)

DukeNukemForever: DVDs become cheap here because BlueRay has become the leading medium. Some years ago importing DVDs was much cheaper then buying them here. As example, the Stanley Kubrick box cost above 100€ (I believe it was 110€) here while the uk-import cost me only around 60€ at this time. Now the box cost only around 32€. DVD is a dying medium here.

langurmonkey: But isn't BluRay the leading medium here too?
To the best of my knowledge, no it is not. DVD still has a rough 2.5:1 lead over Blu-Ray. Primary factor is the cost involved in making use of Blu-Ray. You need a more expensive player, the discs are more expensive, and you need a better tv to make true use of the medium. It is growing, yes, but that's due to prices coming down and it is not in the lead quite yet.
I would pay good money for a service like Steam or GOG for movies and TV shows. I'm no longer buying DVDs, Blu-Rays or whatever is coming next. I find it rather pointless to put something digital on a disc and use an extra hardware player to play it.

I would totally love a Steam or GOG for movies and TV shows. Life is much easier when everything you have is digital.
