A user is unable to delete threads (even his/her own), nor posts, though one can edit out their own posts. You can ask a blue (Judas, TET, GDoc) to lock/delete a thread, but that usually means the discussion has gone way off rails.

As for your NWN problem, I assume you did send a support ticket about it, right?

Edit: Also, you say you do have the VC++ libraries installed, but which ones? , [url=http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29]2008, 2010 or something else entirely?
