I'm kinda new to GOG and i know the whole concept of getting "Good old game" working on modern PC's.
but i recently remembered a game called "Ring of Red" a PS2 only game, and i would LOVE to play this game again not having a PS2 any more.
Just wondering if it's possible atall

gameon: Not unless they did an official deal with sony to do emulated stuff. Not much chance of it happening.
Damn this game was a really great game, maybe gog can get konami to make some sort of a deal, this game was an amazing strategy game.

Can they? Yes. Will they? Probably not. With all of the major consoles already selling their old libraries on their respective stores, the odds that GOG will be allowed to sell console games are pretty low. There could be some exceptions, like the old Sega library that is already available on Steam and other places, but don't expect anything from still viable console lines to show up here.

Emulated games is one of the most wished for things here. Not only consoles but also old computers like Amiga and Commodore.

No luck so far but you never know. GOG have surprised us before so we keep hoping. :)

Two major problems there:
1. Konami
2. Sony

You can kind of see how these two problems combine to completely annihilate any hint of a possibility of that game coming to GOG.

Yeah i have looked at using a PS2 emulator but they are extremely buggy from what i've seen, and pretty much unplayable due to dodgy BIOS set-ups.

You could get an old PS2 dirt cheap, game is a fiver on ebay, just sayin'

Porting usually implies having access to the source code. GOG doesn't have access to the source of the games that we have here now...

JudasIscariot: Porting usually implies having access to the source code. GOG doesn't have access to the source of the games that we have here now...
However, in the case of console games, they would just wrap them in an emulator, no need for source code at all. It would be like the same thing Sega has done with its old Genesis/Master System titles and Sony is currently doing with its PS2 library.

Wasn't the Amiga made by Commodore? Since they did, you didn't really have to say Amiga in there.

Anyone wanting to play PS2 should just buy an old console with games. Heck, i shall be selling mine soon on uk ebay!
I do have a Copy of ring of red somewhere in some box in my house (Hopefully) so tomorrow i might go look for an old PS2 to play it, but a PC port would be amazing.

Also a site note; This game should have been more popular than it was.

Czech out my video I linked, since there is an entire emulator out there, GOG doesn't have to support it!
