StingingVelvet: The Giantbomb preview story makes this game sound awesome, frankly. I am looking forward to it.
I must admit, reading through that story has indeed left me a little more intrigued than usual about what Treyarch is doing. If they are indeed actually going to put in branching points in the campaign with viable fail states it'll be a welcome breath of fresh air. The proof is in the pudding, of course -- I'd reserve my judgement until they finally ship it.

rampancy: Okay, so I saw the trailer.

Aaaand...what? My first reaction was that it seems to remind me a lot of DX:HR. In fact, it's like they liberally cribbed from DX:HR, MGS and just about every other "Future Military Shooter" out there.
How can you even begin to compare CoD to DX...?
Hmmm... A mildly interesting scenario this time. Might actually be worth looking into. Pending reviews. Won't pre-order. Cautiously optimistic. With extreme prejudice.
Again, COD is one of those things that "experienced, quality gamers" love to hate.

The campaign will probably be good, so it's good enough for me. I won't buy it day one because it will be expensive, I still don't have the first BLOPS or MW3, because of the price, but I don't care.

If people like and buy it and enjoy it, good for them, haters gonna hate. There are so many games out there to play, that it's stupid to get worked up over a simple series because it doesn't cater to you anymore.

Only those looking to feel superior over other people.
Eh now that I look at it again I still have my original position of WTF.
As in the "WTF so we went from WW2 to this?"

Which I can't blame them. Modern Warfare and WW2 has been drived to death in the past but still WTF?

kavazovangel: Wait, horses?
Yes. Horses. This is why this is going to be cool.
I like how Treyarch, the company we used to make fun of for their cheap budget shit is putting a unique spin on the fairly vanilla and generic Call of Duty games. This is way more interesting than Modern Warfar.e
